A small silver cased Art Nouveau style desk clock or watch, the case of silver laid on a wooden carcass and having Birmingham assay marks for 1921, makers mark for Sydney & Co, the case incorporating a framed stone material in turquoise, Swiss watch movement with white enamel dial and subsidiary seconds, 16cm tall. The watch movement ticks when wound and the setting function works, though this does not constitute any warranty of working order
A George V silver and enamel dressing table trinket box, the light blue guilloche enamel with hand painted floral decoration to the lid, Birmingham assay 1912 with makers mark for Henry Matthews. Condition Report: Slight discolouration to an area of enamel on the lid, several slight dents to the rim of the cover with one approximately 1 cm (l) and lid doesn't quite close flush.
A large Meiji period Satsuma koro and cover of oviform with twin pierced handles and raised on tripod mask and tongue supports, the pierced cover with shishi finial, the koro body enamelled with two panels of crowds of samurai, courtiers and ladies, approximately 24.5 cm (h), a Meiji period cast iron tetsubin raised on 3 supports, the cover and handle with floral hinges and a Chinese cinnabar lacquer trinket box with turquoise enamel interior and base depicting three scholars in a garden. [3] Condition Report - Hairline crack or restoration to the tail of the finial on the cover, rubbing to the decoration, particularly the gilding, a couple of small chips, one to a handle, the other to the rim of the koro. Trinket box lid does not close flush and there are several areas of lacquer loss.
A late 18th Century Napoleonic coquilla nut cup, commemorative of the Battle of the Pyramids, finely carved a medal, portrait, eagle and central letter N within a wreath, in a fitted box, the cover with enamel crest, helmet and crossed swords within a wreath, the interior with plaque 'Napoleon s'en Servit comme coupe à boir pendant La Bataille des Pyramides' (Napoleon used this as a drinking cup during the Battle of the Pyramids), 9.5cm wide/see illustration
A Japanese Satsuma bowl by the Tohakuen workshop, Meiji period circa 1890s, decorated a panel of figures around a table to one side and two men in a road to the other, interspersed by panels of delicate honeycomb pattern in raised white enamel, a coiled dragon to the interior, signed, 10cm diameter/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: This bowl has a crack running down one side and a much fainter hairline to the other. There is crazing throughout and some staining, mainly visible to the interior and underside.
A Japanese kakiemon water dropper, circa 1680, modelled as a boy sitting on a drum and with gourd slung over his shoulder, 14.5cm high/Provenance: Miss K M Eeles and thence by descent/Note: A similar example was exhibited in Porcelain for Palaces, 6th July-4th November 1990, No. 162 (lent by The Burghley House Collection) another is in the Avery Brundage Collection at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, no. B69P30 and another at the Ashmolean Museum. A similar example sold at Woolley & Wallis 23rd May 2018, lot 975/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: 259:Extensive firing and hairline cracking to the base and up the side. Hairline crack to gourd. Flat enamel chip to hair.
An 18k gold cased repeating pocket watch, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, case numbered 63516, gross weight approximately 113gm CONDITION REPORT: There are a few minor dents to the case. Overall condition looks good. Although we do not guarantee watches to be in working condition the example is currently ticking when wound and the repeat mechanism is also working.The inner dust cover is stamped 18k, there is no inscription, winds and runs, repeat movement strikes hours quarters and minutes, 12 o'clock only strikes 11 throughout the hour, the case is 5.5cm diameter
