OMAS "ALEKSANDR PUSHKIN" FOUNTAIN PEN.Vanilla coloured resin barrel and silver ornamentation and cap.Limited edition. Exemplary 0114/1000.Nib in 18 kts. white gold. F point.Screw cap. Piston-loaded.No case.Measures: 14.3 cm. length, 13 mm. diameter. The designs are simple but incisive and full of pathos, an unusual choice to adorn a prestigious fountain pen. The design is inspired by the evocative but simply constructed language in the seemingly simple works of Alexsandr S. Pushkin, to whom this new OMAS masterpiece is dedicated. The subtle golden threads that border the drawings not only enhance the patterns but also serve as a reminder of the complex texture of the great writer's stories. Pushkin's work, partly autobiographical, did much to inform the wider world about Russian culture, history, theatre, philosophy, nature and the Russian way of life. His writing gives the reader immense scope for personal reflection thanks to the haunting way in which he dealt with the themes of life and death. The warm colour of gold and the distinguished enamel, reminiscent of the paper used for manuscripts, act as a background for the images. These depict the poet's head at the top of the cover, a page from Eugene Onegin created with diamond engraving techniques, and a symbolic goose feather in the clip.Pushkin's face, based on a self-portrait, can also be found in the middle of the ink tank with clouds above and generous human soil below.Like his face, Pushkin's name can also be found twice: in Cyrillic script on one end of the fountain pen and in signature form on the body.
