A GREAT WAR CASUALTY 1914 STAR TO PRIVATE J.H. SHAW, ROYAL BERKSHIRE REGIMENT (9192 Pte J.H. Shaw 2/R. Berks: R.), officially impressed, unmounted; together with a 'Services Rendered' badge; 'Comrades of the Great War' enamel lapel badge; 'Old Contemptibles Association' lapel badge; silver and enamel London Rifle Brigade sweetheart brooch; Somerset Light Infantry sweetheart brooch; R.A.F. Silver and enamel sweetheart brooch; Royal Flying Corps brass cap badge; and other items. Note: 9192 Private J.H. Shaw, 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment, the son of Mr & Mrs F. Shaw of 107 St. Paul's Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, died on 12th October 1915, at the age of 24. He is buried with honour at the Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix.

A French gilt brass and champleve enamel repeating carriage clock, the silvered platform lever escapement striking on a gong, within a foliate decorated case with bevelled glass panels and engraved silvered columns, with a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, stamped 'R26' and 'Registered Pattern', 18.8cm high.
A French porcelain mantel clock, the white enamel dial signed 'Hry Marc a Paris', the drum striking movement stamped 'Hy. Marc, Paris, 20697', numbered pendulum, in a drum case flanked by floral cornucopia, the shaped base decorated with putti and flowers against a blue ground, the back similarly decorated, surmounted by a portrait miniature of a lady beneath flowers and ribbons, 40cm high, on a giltwood stand.
λ A 19th century tortoiseshell and brass boulle marquetry bracket clock and bracket, the circular movement striking on a bell and numbered '1576', the wasted case with gilt brass mounts and with a cherub finial and a female mask, the circular gilt dial with enamel Roman numerals and retailer's mark 'E. LUCHS FRANKFURT a MEIN', with conforming bracket, the clock, 41.5cm high, 23.4cm wide, 12cm deep, the bracket, 18.5cm high, 24.2cm wide, 14cm deep. (2)
A 19th century French ormolu pendule d'officier, the quarter movement stamped '6012' striking on a bell with a platform lever escapement, within a foliate decorated case with a serpent coil handle, the circular enamel dial painted with Arabic numerals and inscribed 'Jump A Paris & 93 Mount St. London', 18.4cm high, 13cm wide.
A late Louis XVI ormolu mantel clock, the case attributed to Nicolas Bonnet, the convex white enamel dial signed 'Gille L'aine a Paris', Roman hours and outer Arabic minute ring, pierced gilt hands, the silk suspension movement in a drum case flanked by two Turkish warriors with spears resting above military trophies, the shaped ebonized base inset with ormolu plaques and corner lion masks, on claw feet, 46cm high. Provenance: Property of a Lady of Title, Rookley Manor, Hampshire.

CONDITION REPORT Some wear commensurate with age. No visible signs of major damage.
