J-M Fumey was a maker of platform escapements in the mid 19th century. In the 1855 Paris Exhibition he was awarded a Bronze medal. 28.04.17, Glass panels with some chips, case surfaces are slightly discoloured in parts, left hand side with one screw missing, dial with one small hairline crack positioned below the left hand side winding hole, small scratches in parts and minor chips around the right hand side winding hole, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, striking barrel mainspring appears to have broken and unable to wind, the going barrel mainspring is fully wound, alarm is working, the strike work is not working and needs attention.

A Continental Silver Mounted Enamel Snuff Box, the mounts with rubbed maker's mark, Paris, date letter P probably 1778/79, rectangular with hinged cover, each side painted with a cartouche featuring figures loading boats in a river landscape within Fromery Workshop style raised gilt borders and puce diaperwork, 6cm wide A crack to the enamel on interior on back and base, further hairline cracks to side panel. Marks to rim are worn, wear and loss to much of the gilt borders especially to the base. A few areas where the gilt borders have discoloured.

A Gilt-Metal and Enamel Singing Bird Box, attributed to Karl Griesbaum, early 20th century, rectangular with rounded corners, decorated in blue and white enamels and painted with pastoral scenes, the top with figures in a woodland setting, the hinged cover revealing a singing, turning and flapping bird on a pierced grille, 10cm wideThe box appears to be in functionning order, the mechanism winds, the bird sings, turns and flaps wings. There is a dicoloured line around the whole foot rim and up the edges of the corners. The cover has some movement and sits ever so slightly raised from the box when closed. There is some wear to the gilding to the corners. Some small scuffs to the painted decoration on the cover at the front and on the back roundel. To the front the right hand arched blue enamel panel appears much darker than the others. To the front and the back there is a panel with wavy line and dot border where not all dots are showing, they are covered with enamel. A small spot of vert de gris to the underside of base. Box not opened.
