George III and fruitwood inlaid longcase clock, by John Foster, Lincoln, with white painted arched enamel dial and twin train movement, 216cm high, with pendulum and two weightsGeneral overall condition is good, movement is clean and appears to be in working order, however, we have not had it going. Although the movement appears original to the case, the cheeks appear to have been replaced and the movement slightly raised and the dial fits the opening but we cannot confirm categorically they started life together. The dial is dirty and worn in places, some enamel is chipped. Case is quite good, dirty, with some minor damage to veneer. Hood door is very stiff and locking bolt is missing completely. Weights and pendulum are present and as they came in, we cannot confirm if they are original.

A pair of Chinese blue and white and famille rose tea bowls and covers, Jiaqing mark and of the period, each bowl with tapered foot rising to a flared rim, painted to the exterior in iron red with alternating shou (longevity) characters and bats hovering over ribbed ruyi to the top section, the bottom section decorated with ji (auspicious) characters in between lotus flowers, the interior painted with a foliage encircling a lotus flower in the central roundel, with peaches, pomegranates and finger citrons painted in famille rose enamel to the sides below a band of floral border, the cover similarly decorated, a four-character seal mark in underglaze blue to base and top of the cover, the bowl 9.2cm diameter, cover 8.8cm diameter.
