Henry Hamilton was youngest son of the miniaturist Gustavus Hamilton and Elizabeth Brooke. His father became the first Viscount Boyne, and his mother was a daughter of Sir Henry Brooke. On 20 October 1715, his father was created Baron Hamilton of Stackallan. As son of a peer Hamilton acquired the style "The Honourable".In the Irish election of 1715, the Henry Hamilton was elected as one of the two members of parliament (MPs) for St Johnstown Borough in the House of Commons of the only Irish Parliament of King George I. He held that seat during the entire duration of the parliament from 12 November 1715 to 11 June 1727 when it was dissolved by the king's death.Hamilton did not contest the Irish election of 1727, which was held for the only Parliament of King George II, which lasted from 14 November 1727 to 25 October 1760. However, in 1730 he contested and won the by-election for one of the two seats for County Donegal that resulted from the death of Alexander Montgomery on 19 December 1729. AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY ENAMELLED GOLD AND SEED PEARL FOB CHAIN CIRCA 1900 The chain with tapering pale blue guilloche enamel panels with white enamelled trefoil terminals, with belcher link and pearl connectors, with lobster claw clasp drop, the clasp with French owl import poinçon Size/dimensions: 62cm long Gross weight: 11.3 grams Condition Report: The panels have some small chips, one of the panels has a knock but the enamel is not lost, but fractured, a few panels has been over enamelled with an pale blue opalescent enamel, it is subtle. Some general wear between links, some of the pearl links/chains have been subtly repaired, a couple pf pearl links may have been replaced, the clasp is a replacement. The pearls have mostly good skins, but there is some variation, some have a little flaking, which is expected of a piece of this age, it is not noticeable unless under close inspection. The gold panels don't have seams, some have tiny possible patches, some links appear thin toward the panel, but this looks to be from construction.Condition Report Disclaimer

Condition Report: The pencil has rubbing and signs of use, there is chipping to the enamel, the end stone is noticeably nibbled. The pencil still retracts and extends, slightly loose.
