A late 18th century Staffordshire enamel bodkin case and a similar thimble egg, the cylinder form needlecase with copper gilt sleeve joint, the pink ground enamel decorated with a spiraling garland in coloured enamels, very minor crack to top section, minor chip with small loss to base, 9cm, the thimble egg with screw cover, and seaweed style decoration to a pink ground, chip to upper section and base section, 3cm. A very rare Palais Royal mother of pearl combination thimble/scent bottle, the thimble with oval enamel pansy motif over a plain frieze within gilt borders, unscrewing from the circular protruding steeped base to reveal a globular cut glass miniature scent bottle with gold screw top, complete with stopper, 2.4cm high, base 2.3cm diameter max. * For a very similar example see The Thimble Society, Volume 10, Issue 1, Spring 2008, front cover, but with slightly variant scent bottle.
A 5-piece silver sewing set for Asprey, the pink leather and gilt tooled case of rectangular cut corner form, the lid interior in silk and marked for Asprey, the lower section in velvet with bodkin, thimble, pink guilloche enamel scissors, needlecase and stiletto, slight wear, 12.5cm x 6.5cm.
