London Transport 1940s enamel BUS & COACH STOP FLAG (compulsory) of the type with two enamel plates inside a bronze frame. This is the first style of 'vertically split' bus & coach flags, introduced in the late-1940s, and evidenced by the background colour of the bar being the same colours as the circle. This was later changed to black for better legibility. A very scarce example in very good condition with minor blemishes only. [1]
London Transport 1950s/60s enamel BUS STOP SIGN " BUS & COACH STOP - WELWYN, THE AVENUE" from the "Keston" shelter served by LT Country Buses & Coaches on routes 303/A, 315A, 388 and 716/A at this stop on the Great North Road. Sign is 18" (42cm) square, one-sided with a flange and fixing lugs. A couple of small chips touched in but otherwise in very good condition with an excellent shine. [1]
London Transport enamel BUS STOP SIGN in the smaller size (10.5" x 10" - 27cm x 25cm) which were located in runners on the roofs of bus shelters in the 1950s/60s. This is the 'Bus Compulsory, Coach Request' version - other variants are also listed in today's sale - and is in excellent condition. [1]
London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE for route 100 'Tourist Bus' in white lettering on a red background. This route ran during various summers in the 1970s, operated on LT's behalf by Obsolete Fleet and using vintage buses which are today part of the London Bus Museum collection. In good ex-use condition with a couple of light surface scratches. [1]

A 'bullseye' platform sign measuring 28" x 26" (71cm x 66cm) from the original station of this name, serving the District, Circle, Bakerloo and Northern Lines, which opened in 1870 and was renamed Embankment in 1976. A few small chips touched in but overall very good. [1]
London Underground ENAMEL STATION SIGN from Grange Hill on the Central Line, opened by the Great Eastern Railway in 1903 on the Fairlop Loop line between Woodford & Ilford and on the Central Line's Hainault Loop since 1948. Grange Hill was also the name of a fictional TV series 1978-2008. The sign would have formed the separate bar of a station bullseye and is of a medium size, approx 40" (100cm) long. In excellent condition with very minor blemishes only. [1]
London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line Coach service 727 Express to Luton, Fare Stage. The 727 linked Luton and Crawley, via Heathrow and Gatwick Airports and this plate dates from the original route, later extended at the northern end to Luton Airport. LT produced blue, rather than green, e-plates to signify an express coach service. E-plates for express routes are scarce. In very good, ex-use condition, two small edge-chips. [1]
London Underground ENAMEL STATION SIGN for Covent Garden, c1950s-60s. A 'bullseye' platform sign measuring 28" x 22" (71cm x 57cm) from this Piccadilly Line station opened by the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway in 1907. Some chips around the screw-holes and other small blemishes but generally very reasonable. [1]
ENAMEL SIGN 'REGENTS PARK', thought to be from the London Underground, pre-London Transport, and probably from a platform train indicator elsewhere on the Bakerloo Line, originally the Baker Street and Waterloo Railway and which opened in 1906. 19" (48cm) across. Some chips to the enamel with resulting corrosion at those points but this scarce survivor is very reasonable overall. [1]
London Transport enamel bus stop E-PLATE for route 441 to Old Windsor, Staines from the days when it was a trunk route from High Wycombe to Staines. This plate was likely to have been located on a southbound stop in Windsor. In ex-use condition and quite good under the street-grime remaining. [1]
