COLLECTION OF WALKING STICKS & UMBRELLAS including a curved top walking stick with 18ct gold collar, a walking stick with a curved top horn handle and malacca shaft, a horn top stick with enamel crest, and a variety of other walking sticks and umbrellas including a silver top umbrella inscribed ACC from Victoria, Jan 1901 (damaged). Also with a coaching horn and modern china umbrella stand.
Two 20th century Thames conservancy enamel trade plates numbered 45 and 84. The Thames Conservancy existed from 1857 to 1974 and was responsible for issuing annual licences to all craft on the river, this task today being carried out by the Environment Agency. No. 84 measures 33cms wide x 20cms tall, no. 45 measures 16.5 cms tall x 46 cms wide.
Two contemporary unusual (possibly overseas issue) medals. The first ' For Gallantry & Bravery ' of hallmarked silver construction ( Sydney & Co, 1991, Birmingham) with enamel ring depicting a shielded man fighting a lion. Along with a similar and presumed related ' Distinguished Service ' medal. Believed to be Fireman medals. Along with some other Iraqi / Arabic medals, also presumed related.
A rare original British Railways Scottish Region double flanged enamel totem sign for ' King's Park ' (Glasgow). Blue ground, with white text. Generally very good condition, with some edge touch-up repairs in the correct colour paint. Mounting holes to rear. Measures approx; 91cm wide. Rare.
A good large assorted collection of vintage / classic car motoring badges and related ephemera. To include; vintage AA Badge, Triumph, Riley (enamel), Austin, Dauphine, Morris Oxford, Vanden (Plas), Mino, Ford and others. Along with a vintage Observers ' Automobiles ' book, 1970's Kelley ' Blue Books ' and others. Good assortment.
An original British Rail BR 1960's ' Filton Junction ' enamel railway station totem sign. Ex-GWR station with a three way junction to Avonmouth, South Wales and London. Brown white edged enamel construction, in typical rounded-edge form. Mounting holes to top and bottom flanges. Generally very good, one patch of enamel loss to front upper edge (see photographs), general wear and tear otherwise good. A rare local interest Bristol related railway platform totem sign. Measures approx; 93cm long.
A selection of late 19th century and early 20th century enamel signs to include 2x Thames Conservancy enamel license plates for a private pleasure vessel, Register No 2807, for the year of 1939 and no. 770 for the year of 1932. Also included in this lot is a Flood-Mark sign for November 17th 1894 for the A T Chamberlain & Co Nautical Works Waterloo Road.
