Chinese polychrome enameled jar, Late Qing/Republic period. Thickly molded with a tall neck and inverted pear-form body that spreads outward above the set-in foot ring, painted in bright colors with flowering and leafy tendrils in bright colors on a green enamel ground surrounding shaped reserves filled with birds, insects and flowering branches, the decorative bands on the shoulder and foot area enameled in a contrasting yellow ground (Missing lid). (Approx. 13 1/4" tall).
London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE for route 439 destinated Brockham or Holmwood. May well have been located at Dorking bus station (Dorking garage) to indicate workings on this rather complicated route that ran as a circular at one end. Likely to be one of just two examples. In very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
Early 20th-Century enamel BUS DRIVER'S LICENCE BADGE issued by Romford Urban District Council, 'Licensed Driver 103'. A double-sided badge complete with original leather strap for attaching to the lapel or a coat button. In good, ex-use condition with some edge-wear and staining. A most unusual item not seen before at auction. [1]
1950s/60s London Transport enamel BUS STOP SIGN ' Bus & Coach Stop - Milestone Road' from a 'Keston' wooden bus shelter at this location on the London Road in Dartford which was served by bus routes 450, 452 & 480 and Green Line routes 701, 702 and 725. A flanged, single-sided sign measuring 18" (46cm) square and, apart from a little weathering to the lower section, in excellent condition. [1]
London Transport ENAMEL SIGN 'TO BUS STATION'. Believed to date from the late 1940s/early 1950s, the brown border suggests this was located on the Underground system, presumably at one of the exits from a station. Measures 36" x 9" (92cm x 23cm) and is in very good, ex-use condition with no more than minor blemishes. [1]
London Underground enamel PLATFORM FRIEZE PANEL from King's Cross St Pancras station. Flanged on three sides, with a bullseye and an extra section for 'Way Out', this is believed to be from the Victoria Line platforms and to date from the opening of the platforms in 1968. Measures 72" x 17" (182cm x 43cm)
London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE for Green Line route 711 destinated Tooting, Sutton, Reigate 'Fare Stage'. The plate would probably have been located on a southbound stop in Stockwell or Clapham and is unusual in having the fare stage marker included, something that is relatively uncommon on coach e-plates. In very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE 'National Express Coach Stop' in the red & blue of the National Bus Company. These plates were put up in the 1970s at the relatively few locations in LT's area where coach operators from all over the UK (formerly part of the London Coastal Coaches consortium) were permitted to cater for long-distance passengers. Unusual for an e-plate in that it carries a logo. In very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
London General Omnibus Company 1920s ENAMEL SIGN ''MOTOR BUSES - TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS'' believed to have been located in an enquiry office or at a bus garage to indicate where publicity leaflets for route changes etc were available. Has the 'General' bullseye logo in Underground Group style. Measures 6'' x 8 1/2'' (15cm x 21cm). A little edge-wear but overall in very good condition. Only the 2nd time seen at auction. [1]
Selection of London Transport enamel BUS RADIATOR BADGES (T, STL, RT etc) comprising 4 x Central Area type, the first marked on reverse "In store Edgware 2-8-53 STL 455' and 2 x Country Area type, the second marked on reverse 'In store Edgware 2-8-5? T 5(?)77. Condition varies from damaged to very good. Plus an enamel bus stop Q-PLATE 'Shoplinker' from that short-lived Routemaster operation in 1979, in excellent condition. [7]
1950s/60s London Transport enamel BUS STOP SIGN ' London Transport - Hadley Highstone' from a 'Keston' wooden bus shelter at this location on the Great North Road north of Barnet which was served by bus routes 303/A, 340B, 350/A and Green Line routes 716/A and 717. A flanged, single-sided sign measuring 18" (46cm) square and, apart from minor chips on the flange, in excellent condition. [1]
Royal Blue enamel COACH STOP FLAG. A 1950s/60s double-sided sign in cream and black enamel. A 'National Express' sticker (removable) covers the Royal Blue name on one side. Measures 12.5" x 10.5" (32cm x 27cm) and, apart from some surface scratches on one side, is in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE for routes 714 destinated Dorking and 717 destinated Victoria. The 717 only ran to Victoria from 1955 to 1964 and these two routes only met on the short stretch between Barnet and North Finchley. A most interesting combination and an exceedingly scarce plate. In very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE 851/852 'Northdowns', a slightly incorrect form of the name of the independent operator North Downs Rural Transport which operated these two routes in the Horsham area in the 1960s/70s. Apart from very minor weathering to the digits, this most unusual plate is in good, ex-stop condition. [1]
A City of London enamel STREET SIGN for Post Office Court, EC2, a small thoroughfare off King William Street in the heart of London's financial district - the 'Square Mile'. Measures 19.5" x 30" (50cm x 76cm) and comes with its original aluminium frame. Estimated vintage: 1980s. In very good, ex-use condition. [1]
London Transport bus stop enamel Q-PLATE 'Queue this side for 410, Queue other side for B1, 402'. This would have been located at Bromley North Station and is an unusual mix of 'Country' and 'Central' routes from the time when minibus-operated B1 shared the stand with two very longstanding Country trunk routes. A small repair to the top edge, otherwise in very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
1930s London Transport enamel TRAM STOP SIGN in the early 'tombstone' design inherited from the Underground Group buses & trams. Estimated vintage c1933-36. A single-sided sign measuring 17.5" x 23.5" (45cm x 60cm) and, apart from small losses at the bottom corners and light edge-corrosion, in excellent condition overall. A scarce survivor not seen at auction before. [1]
London Transport bus stop enamel G-PLATE 'Also Buses starting from here to Sidcup'. A G6-size plate (equivalent to 6 e-plates), original location unknown but could have been outside Sidcup bus garage in respect of buses entering service from there. Aside from a couple of light surface scratches, in very good, ex-stop condition. [1]
A pair of London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAGS, both E9-size, boat-style (hollow, double-sided), compulsory versions. The first is a 1980s type (with 'e-stickers') and the other is the mid-1990s onwards type in transitional form, still with 'e-stickers'. Both measure 18" x 31" (46cm x 79cm) and are in ex-use condition, generally good. [2]
A City of London WARD BOUNDARY SIGN 'The Ward of Bread Street'. An oval enamel sign in its original bronze and steel frame, measuring 20" x 13" (51cm x 33cm) at its maximum dimensions. Bread Street is one of 25 wards in the City of London amd was home to the City's bread market in the Middle Ages. Estimated to date from the 1970s/80s. In very good condition. [1]
A selection of London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATES for Eastern National routes 304, 315/317 and 322 with the operator's name and the usual green-on-white lettering used for 'other operators'. We haven't been able to determine the location of these plates but think that it may have been Bishop's Stortford or Harlow. In very good, ex-stop condition. [3]
London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE for route 401 destinated 'via Bexley Heath'. Apart from the mistake in splitting Bexleyheath into two words, we have been unable to determine the purpose or location of this plate but it may have been either in Dartford or Belvedere. In good, ex-stop condition. [1]
London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAG 'Request'. A hollow 'boat'-style flag in E3 size with fittings for 3 e-plates on each side, this is the relatively short-lived 1970s style featuring the re-styled 'bullseye', thence known as the 'roundel'. Complete with original e-plate runners and BP number 31675 on the under-side, the flag is is very good, ex-use condition with just a few surface scratches and small chips. Measures 18" x 21" (46cm x 53cm). [1]
A selection of London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATES for Alder Valley routes 25, 201 and 300/310 with the operator's name and the usual green-on-white lettering used for 'other operators'. The first was probably located at High Wycombe and the others perhaps at Heathrow Airport. In very good, ex-stop condition. [3]

A flanged, single-sided sign measuring 18" (46cm) square and, apart from two very small chips to the face (repaired), in excellent condition. [1]
London bus driver's ENAMEL LICENCE BADGE 'MECHANICAL POWER' issued in the first years of the 20th century when distinction needed to be made between horse and motor-bus drivers. A double-sided badge which would have been worn on the lapel with a leather strap and bearing serial number 10,445. In well-used condition with edge corrosion and considerable enamel loss on one side. [1]
