An early 20th century French eight day champleve enamel Louis XV style mantel clock the 3 inch enamel dial with Arabic numerals with garland swags, the movement striking on a coiled gong, stamped 2915.4.9, the scrolling leaf case with enamel front and sides under an urn finial on scroll moulded fronted feet. 33cm high
A French ormolu singing bird automaton mantel clock attributed to Bontems, circa 1875, the 9.5 inch dial with chapter ring of Roman numeral enamel cabochons with exposed escapement within a drum case, raised on a rectangular glazed case with a single bird automaton with brightly coloured plumage moving head, beak and tail in a naturalistic setting with painted scene to the back on a rectangular base containing the separate automaton mechanism causing the bird to sing while moving, the drum movement stamped to the back plate 'H & F Paris, 3772 72' the clock 49cm high, 22cm wide, 16cm deep NOTE: The Bontems firm produced a series of singing bird clocks, including a special commission for the Czarina of Russia, the firm is listed in the Paris Directories from 1849 and in 1851 displayed a bronze clock with singing birds at the Great Exhibition, in the same year Automata clocks were advertised at 18 francs against a price of 12 francs for a standard singing bird group. A 9ct gold ladies fob watch, by Alfred Goad & Sons, having engraved case with blue enamel Roman numerals to front, on yellow metal bow brooch, together with another 9ct gold ladies open faced fob watch, AF (2) The smaller watch has a loose hand, and enamel missing from the flower design on the reverse. The other watch has a small area of cracking to the very edge of the dial between 5 and 6. The watch with the loose hand does not tick when wound.

A Norwegian-silver gilt plique-à-jour spoon,stamped 925S,decorated with floral motifs,12cm long, andan unmarked plique-à-jour ladle,the stem decorated with red flower motifs,14.5cm long (2)Norwegian plique-à-jour enamel work enjoyed international success following the World’s Columbia Exhibition at Chicago in 1893 where an oil lamp with a large plique-à-jour shade was exhibited by David Andersen. At the Paris Exhibition in 1900, many examples of Tostrup’s work were snapped up by museums, including two exquisite standing dishes which are at the Württembergisches Landesmuseum in Stuttgart. On a smaller scale, spoons proved very popular too, and Liberty & Co. of London offered them for sale as Yuletide gifts in 1896 and 1898.
