Decanter and stopper - h.20cm, some losses to gilt but no apparent damage. Small jar - h.7cm, small chip to underside of lid, some light scratches to enamel, otherwise OK.

A double ended red enamel cross called the cross of Lorraine or the patriarch cross, the origin of this example is not known, traditionally this image was carried by the Knights Templar, but has been used by Jesuit missionaries and the Masons a well as The Free France movement during the second world war to remind them of the lost province of Lorraine. The cross is of hollow construction, with hand cut guilloche engraved ground to the yellow metal body, approximate weight 33.5gms, 78mm x 54mm at its widest point.
