A set of eight Chinese Qianlong blue and white octagonal plates painted with landscapes, 21.5cm wide, together with two similar plates and a pair of small Qianlong bowls with everted rims edged in yellow enamel, painted to the main body in underglaze blue with vases under borders of leaves and berries, 16.5cm diameter. Set of eight plates with fritting only, no cracks or repair. Dish fritted, crazed and with a flat chip to the reverse of the rim. Plate with some chips and fritting. Two bowls, both with drilled foot rims for hanging, one with two hair cracks. The other with a foot chip. Both fritted.

Moeurs Antiques, one of only 4 copies, printed on Arches water-marked "Aphrodite" and "H.C. de St.Chamant", preface signed by the author, with 43 original watercolours by Edmond Malassis (11 full-page and 32 chapter-headings), all signed and dated 1911 or 1912, with 5 original watercolour circular part titles of flowers and butterflies by Adolphe Giraldon, title, plates and text all within hand-coloured decorative printed frame designed by Giraldon, with original watercolour design for binding by Giraldon bound in at end (heightened with gold and signed & dated 1912 by him at foot), one or two very light marks or stains to margins, magnificent dark blue morocco mosaic binding, designed by Giraldon and executed by René Kieffer incorporating enamel by Paul Grandhomme, upper cover inlaid with pale blue, lilac, cream, fawn and tan morocco flowers, strings of beads and swirling ribbons around a square floral frame containing an inset metal-framed polychrome enamel portrait of Aphrodite's head by Grandhomme at centre, the whole within a tan morocco twisted rope border with flowers at corners and intervals, lower cover the same but with circular medallion of snake and goblet in blue and brown morocco against a gold ground in place of enamel, spine titled in gilt and with similar inlaid decoration of flowers, signed by Giraldon, Kieffer and Grandhomme at foot of front turn-in, beige silk flyleaves with hand-painted floral frames in watercolour, marbled endpapers, g.e., book-labels of A.Blazot and Michel Wittock, preserved in original ivory silk-lined shagreen leather box with metal clasps (one detached but loosely inserted), box rubbed, folio (binding c.345 x 230mm.), 1910.⁂ Spectacular work executed for the collaborators of the collector Henri Couderc de Saint-Chamant printed from his own unique copy (with watercolours by Bourgonnier), and in a splendid binding commissioned by Auguste Blaizot.
