A late 18th Century style enamel sewing etui, probably Samson of Paris, of oval section and tapering form, the pink ground overlaid with white dots and scrolls, gilt metal fancy hinge and frame mounts. The domed lid with a reserved oval of cupid with bow, the lower section with four reserved panels of figures in classical landscapes all featuring cupids including one seated on a lion, the base in plain white. The interior with gilt metal tools comprising a file, a canted angle oval needle case, a button hook and a stiletto in a gilt tool mount, two vacant apertures, the tools present seemingly all original, case 5 x 3 x 9.5cms max.
