Ancient Order of Froth Blowers Car Mascot This rarely offered mascot represents a charitable organisation, its maxim being, 'To foster the noble Art and gentle and healthy Pastime of froth blowing amongst Gentlemen of-leisure and ex-Soldiers'. Founded by Ronald Frothington charities, Noble, an ex-soldier and merchant, in 1922, initially with the object of raising £100 for the children's charities, one of the Order's first meeting places was the Swan at Fittleworth, West Sussex. By 1928 the charity had raised £100k, yet folded in 1931 on the death of the founder. The manufacture was the Birmingham Medal Co., which is shown intaglio on the rear of the barrel, nickel-plated with original blue A.O.F.B enamel to the front. Currently mounted on a commercial vehicle radiator cap, coming with the mascot are a pair of A.O.F.B enamelled cuff-links, which were given to every member on enrolment. (11.8 x 9cm.), 2 3/8in. (6.2cm.) high. * Enamel decoration good, hinge with movement.

An antique yellow gold, guilloché enamel and diamond locket, the circular locket with vibrant blue, gold and white scroll decoration to the front, with an old mine cut diamond to the centre, held in a bezel setting with millegrain detailing and weighing approximately 0.15ct. Metal unmarked but tests as 18ct. With photo compartment to the interior and accompanied by an yellow gold ball chain. Locket measures 2.5cm in diameter, chain approximately 36cm in length.

A silver bedside or desk clock by Liberty & Co., Birmingham, date mark rubbed, possibly 1928, of tapering rectangular form with arched top, the Swiss pocket watch movement with back wind, Arabic enamel dial and subsidiary seconds, brass bezel, 3 7/8in. (9.8cm.) high. * Marks rubbed but remain legible apart from date letter. Case: Front left corner of the base is bent upwards a little and velvet to back is worn and polish stained. Tiny kink to silver to top of dial aperture, where there is a tiny slot to locate a pin on the bezel - this kink means that the dial cannot currently be rotated left properly to fix in place and it therefore sits off centre. It should be possible for this to be corrected quite easily with care. Movement winds and runs. Plating to dust cover heavily worn. Dial good with no chips or cracks.

A Chinese porcelain famille rose ginger jar, probably late 19th century, of broad ovoid form, finely enamelled with figures on a veranda, one on horseback, decorated collar and base, four character mark to base, 6½in. (16.5cm.) high, lacks cover. * No chips or cracks found, very slight enamel wear, wear to foot, good.

A ladies cased silver guilloche enamel cigarette case and powder compact, Joseph Gloster Ltd., Birmingham 1948, with floral sprays on pink and pearl sunburst guilloche enamel decoration, the cigarette case of canted rectangular form, 3¼in. (8.2cm.) long, the circular compact in fitted leather case, gross weight 7.1 tr.oz. (2) * Good condition, very light wear, mainly to edges, no damage to enamel.

A French white marble and gilt metal mantel clock, late 19th century, the white enamel Arabic dial with gilt pierced hands, fronting an 8 day bell strike movement with platform escapement, by Vincenti Cie, no. 887, the balloon case mounted with cupid and attendant cherubs, on a shaped base with floral gilt metal mount and four gadrooned feet, 12¾in. (32.3cm.) high, faults to dial. * Condition: Crack and flaked enamel to dial between 1 and 2 o'clock. Retailer's name to dial worn. A few tiny frits to marble on corners and edges of base. Good repair to cupid's bow with some retouching to gold paint.

A Chinese porcelain famille rose octagonal bowl, Qianlong (1711-1799) seal mark to the turquoise enamelled base and probably of the period, the bowl painted to the exterior with winged beasts, floral motifs and scrollwork on a deep rose ground, below a yellow ruyi border and above a blue Greek key border to the flared, circular foot, the interior enamelled with a five toed dragon, two phoenix and a flaming pearl amidst clouds and flames on a yellow ground, below a turquoise ruyi border, 5 5/8in. (14.25cm.) diameter, 2 3/8in. (6cm.) high, interior enamel worn. * Enamelled decoration to interior heavily worn to well. Otherwise good, with no chips, cracks or other damage. No restoration.

A gilt metal drum clock by Henri Marc of Paris, with an eight day movement by Japy Freres, striking to bell on the hour, French, mid-19th century, with a figure of a gentleman standing by a railing with a set of pipes at his feet, the drum surmounted by a flowering urn finial, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and pierced hands, raised on a foliate and scroll work base, 9¾in. (24.7cm.), movement with faults.
