London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAG (Compulsory version). A single-sided sign in a slightly smaller size than the full flags. These were made to be fixed over the stop flags on wooden bus shelters when the 'denomination' of the stop needed changing and they have screw-holes in the corners for this purpose. They are rather unusual. Measures 16" x 14" (41cm x 36cm). In excellent condition with only very minor blemishes. [1]

Pair of Bristol area double-sided BUS STOP FLAGS, the first of composite material and lettered 'City Services only etc' and the second an enamel flag as used on Gloucester City and Cheltenham Town services. They measure 13.5" x 16" (34cm x 41cm) and are in good to very good, ex-use condition. [2]
London Underground 1938-Tube Stock enamel CAB DESTINATION PLATE for Alexandra Palace / Moorgate on the Northern Line. The Alexandra Palace branch of the Northern City Line was planned under the 1930s 'Northern Heights' programme. After the War, the planned extension did not proceed and Tube trains never ran to the Palace. A double-sided plate with brass ends. In very good condition, ex-use condition. [1]

A 1950s/60s 'bullseye'-style, E6-size, double-sided 'boat'-type flag complete with runners for 6 e-plates on each side and containing 6 Tilbury/Grays area enamel e-plates for the 371 group of routes. Measures 18" x 26" (46cm x 66cm) and is generally in very good, ex-use condition. [1 + 6 plates]
London Underground c1970s enamel PLATFORM DIRECTION SIGN from Earl's Court Station 'District Line, Platforms 3 & 4 - Hammersmith, Ealing Broadway, Wimbledon, Richmond, Putney Bridge, Olympia'. Features the Olympic Torch symbol for the special shuttle service to Kensington (Olympia). Measures 57" x 33" (145cm x 84cm). In ex-use condition with some small blemishes. [1]
London Underground Standard or 1938-Tube Stock enamel CAB DESTINATION PLATE for Rayners Lane on the Piccadilly Line or, possibly, for O/P Stock on the Metropolitan Line. Note the style of 'Lane'. A single-sided plate with blank reverse and brass ends. In good, ex-use condition, minor touching in. [1]

A slightly longer plate, most likely to have been used on the pre-Q Stock, eg G Stock etc and located outside the cab. A most uncommon variant not seen by us at auction before. Double-sided, reversable, with brass ends. In ex-use condition with some small losses of enamel. [1]
Pair of London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAGS, the first a 1950s/60s Green Line Coach Stop (Request version, no runners)) and the second an early 1990s Bus Request Stop with e-stickers. Both are double-sided, E3-size, traditional 'boat'-style flags measuring 18" x 21" (46cm x 53cm), the first is unused but has some damage on the lower part of the leading edge, the second is in very good, ex-use condition. 1930s London Transport Central Buses OFFICIALS' PLATE as issued to senior staff when required to be on duty in plain clothes. A low-numbered plate from the first series produced after the formation of LT in 1933. Nickel-silver with enamel infills. Minor blemishes from a long period of use but overall in very good condition. Signs like this were/are located at street level above the steps down to Underground stations. Sign comes with its original alloy frame and backing plate. Measures 31" x 24.5" (79cm x 62cm) and is in good, ex-use condition, a few small blemishes. [1]

Measures 18" x 21.5" (46cm x 54cm). Retains one original e-plate and its original fixing brackets. Generally a good example, some weathering from a long period in situ. [1]

Good quantity (19) of London Transport bus garage ALLOCATION STENCIL PLATES (14) & RUNNING NUMBERS (5) for a variety of Central and Country Area garages, some in pairs, as pictured. Some in ex-use condition, others barely used, the RE plate is a coachpainter's stencil for application of the code in paint. Plus a double-sided London Transport bus stop enamel 'Fare Stage' sign with bracket (bracket is bent) in ex-use condition. [20]

This sign is a swivel-plate for the lower position in the destination box. In very good, ex-use condition. [1]
London Underground 38-Tube Stock enamel CAB DESTINATION PLATE for Bushey Heath / Finchley Cen on the Northern Line. Bushey Heath would have been the new northern terminus of the line had the extension proposed before WW2 taken place but this was abandoned with the introduction of the Green Belt. A double-sided plate with brass ends. Generally in very good ex-use condition, some touching in of the letters. [1]
Southern Railway enamel DEPARTURE INDICATOR PLATE 'Pevensey', probably from the departures board at Victoria and presumably covered both of the Pevensey stations on the East Coastway Line - Pevensey & Westham and Pevensey Bay. Measures 17" x 2.5" (43cm x 6.5cm). Some small chips but generally in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
Southern Railway enamel DEPARTURE INDICATOR PLATE 'Including 1st and 2nd Class Pullman Cars', probably from the departures board at Victoria. Designed to be added manually with an extra section at the top edge for hanging onto the board. A most unusual example. Measures 17.5" x 3.5" (44cm x 9cm). Minor edge wear but generally in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
Enamel London Underground DESTINATION PLATE 'Aldgate / Liverpool St' (double-sided), believed to have been used on the fronts of the ex-Metropolitan Railway Bo-Bo electric locomotives. Measures 33" x 4" (84cm x 10cm) and generally in very good, ex-use condition, minor chipping has been touched in. An amazing survivor. [1]
London Transport bus stop enamel G-PLATE 'Buses leaving Wandsworth Garage towards Wandsworth Bridge and Battersea - the main stop is in York Road'. An E6-size plate that would have occupied the space of 6 e-plates. Almost certainly one of a unique pair. Some well-executed restoration at the top and bottom edges. [1]
