THIRD REICH SA (STURMABTEILUNG) DRESS DAGGER BY KAUFMANN & SOHNE, SOLINGEN, fine example of a SA dress dagger with deep wooden handle having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Lower cross guard stamped with district stamp ‘Wm’. Reverse of the grip carved with the letter ‘L’ possibly done by the original owner or the GI who brought the dagger home as a souvenir from Europe in 1945. Housed in the anodised scabbard with the lower ball mount being flattened and cracked. Attached to the scabbard is an original single hanging strap. The blade remains in near mint condition with much of the original polish and cross graining. Standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’, reverse with makers trademark to the base. Overall a very good example and a hard maker to find.

WW2 GERMAN CROSS IN SILVER AWARD HOUSED IN ORIGINAL BOX, worn example of a silver grade Deutsches Kreuz in silver with undamaged enamel swastika. Silver wreath with 1941 date to the bottom. Reverse with six rivets. Complete with its pin and catch fixing. Housed in its black leatherette case with silver leaf line to the edge of the box. The award shows some wear but the box remains in good overall condition.

THIRD REICH SA DRESS DAGGER WITH INTERESTING DECAL LABEL FOR GAU WESTFALEN, nice example with wooden grip retaining nickel silver eagle and enamel SA emblem. Lower cross guard mount stamped ‘He’. The dagger is housed in scabbard with an interesting golden decal label which reads ‘Eigentum der Gauleitung Westfalen der NSDAP’ (Property of the Gauleitung of Westfalen of the NSDAP). Some paint loss to the scabbard. Double edged blade which remains in near mint condition with much of the original polish and cross graining. The blade has the windmill trademark of the maker Robert Herder Solingen. An interesting SA dress dagger.

Plated top pommel and cross guard with black enamel swastika to the centres. Housed in its original scabbard which shows some light wear. Original hanging chains with correct ‘DRGM’ mark to the back of the clip. Good condition double edged blade with makers trademark to the reverse. Small chip to grip and some general wear but still generally a good example of a rare German dress dagger.

1 Medium size late 19th century pictorial "Gin Bari" button.These enamels are ones that are prized among collectors. The word "Gin" is pronounced with a hard G. This type of enamel was developed by the fine artists in Japan a long time ago. Gin Bari enamels are a Basse Taille style although rather than being engine turned on the metal base the foil under the enamel is textured. Most of not all Gin Bari buttons also utilize the technique of Cloisonne fine wire work. This medium example shows a large colorful flower.
