A set of four early 20th century enamel dishes, each of pierced scalloped oval form, having central playing card decoration within floral borders (a/f); together with an enamelled matchbox holder (5) Condition Report / Extra Information All pieces heavily damaged with large chipped areas, cracked/missing enamels, and areas of rust.
A late 19th century silver cased open faced pocket watch having an enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial on a silver curb link Albert chain with T-bar, together with a 19th century pinchbeck mourning brooch (a/f), gents signet ring, ladies silver brooch, various buttons etc
London and North Western Railway 12 inch dial mahogany cased fusee clock supplied to the LNWR around 1860 by John Walker of London. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and a shaped back cock. The mahogany case with LNWR enamel clock numberplate 2180 screwed to the left hand side has a thin one piece turned surround with bezel lock removed, dovetailed back box with one side door and a bottom door with cock beading secured by a brass lock, it also retains its original cast brass bezel hinged to the left. The original dial is lettered L&N.W.R JNo Walker 40 Princess St Leicester Squ 5846 and has typical John walker heart shaped hands. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock that has retained its pre grouping dial writing.
British Railways Board 9 carat Gold free pass issued to DAVID McKENNA. David McKenna became assistant general manager of the Southern Region of British Railways in 1955. He was subsequently at Lord Beeching's elbow as chief commercial officer for the British Transport Commission, before becoming chairman and general manager of the Southern Region, and a member of the British Railways Board until his retirement in 1976. In good condition with a light blue enamel face and hallmarked 9.375 with a date code for 1969 London.
BR(M) FF enamel sign NO ADMITTANCE WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE INSPECTOR OF THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE FISHERIES AND FOOD, measures 36in x 15in. The sign was originally located on the goods warehouse in the station yard at Bentham on the line between Carnforth and Settle Jn. In good condition with a few small chips, a rare one off sign.
