A rare Chinese Canton enamel armorial dish for Silvio Valenti Gonzaga, Qianlong Dia.: 15,5 cmSilvio Valenti Gonzaga (1 March 1690 – 28 August 1756) was an Italian nobleman and Catholic priest.Gonzaga was born in Mantua. He was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 1738 by Pope Clement XII. On 15 May 1747 he was given the titular church of San Callisto. He died in Viterbo. The nobleman owned a large collection of paintings (including the Portrait of Lorenzo Cybo), which, after his death, was sold on 18 May 1763 in Amsterdam.The dish was part of a service. A Canton enamel dish of the same design was exhibited in Chinese Painted Enamel, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 1978, cat. no. 105, and another from the collection of J.A. Oct. 1882'', cased; other medals and medallions, including two further Victorian shooting medals, one cased; four further bronze shooting medals, two Royal Caledonian Curling Club District Medals; and an Empire Exhibition 1938 brochure and two enamel badges, etc. Footnote: The recipient of the shooting medals was Musketry Instructor at Bisley during the period of the First World War and shot four times for the King's Prize

A Pair of Second World War Naval 7x CF41 Binoculars by Barr & Stroud, Glasgow & London, to Admiralty Pattern 1900A, serial number 50740 M, with individual focussing to each eyepiece, triple filters, black crinkle enamel grips with yellow arrowheads, webbing strap and part leather case, together with a J.H. Dallmeyer Brass Cased Military Three Draw Telescope, with leather-covered grip and lens shade extension, inscribed, ''TEL. SIG. (Mk.IV) also G.S.'', numbered 2492, dated 1917 and bearing broad arrow mark, 84 cm extended (2). Binoculars - Optics in good order - clear image with no apparent internal damage, spotting or crizzling. Filters in good operative order. Some slight chipping / wear to enamel finish. Leather case poor with part of cover missing. Telescope - Some fogging and spotting internally to eyepiece lenses. First draw not tight to brass casing. Outer leather case lacking.
