A late 19th century yellow and white metal caduceus brooch, having twenty-six Old European and rose cut diamonds and two oval pearls measuring 3.85 x 3.0mm and 4.25 x 3.5mm, with a central octagonal cut emerald, and red and green enamel detail to the snakes, diamond dimensions approx 1.8 x 1.6 x 1.3mm, total weight estimated as 0.10 carats, brooch length 50mm, gross weight 6.7g, not marked but tested as 15ct and silver.Note: Caduceus, the traditional symbol of the staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology had an ancient association with trade and wisdomCondition report: Small chip to emerald.Some lead solder present to the back.Otherwise very good condition.
