An 18ct gold hunter pocket watch, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, subsidiary at 6, side wind, case approx 47mm, case with engraved monogram, inner dust cover with presentation inscription dated 1918, awarded the Victoria cross for bravery, total gross weight approx 87gms cased.Robert Edward Cruickshank (1888-1961) was born in Canada, but moved to England with his family in 1891.After initially enlisting with the Royal Flying Corps, he later transfered to the London Scottish Regiment.His Victoria Cross was won on May 1st 1918 while serving in Egypt.he was assigned the task of delivering a message along the front line, and while doing so, was fired upon and hit several times by a sniper.At the conclusion of the First World War, Robert returned to working for Lipton Ltd.During WW2, he attained the rank of Major while serving with the Home Guard. A French Legion d’honneur Officers Cross.Silver cross with vitreous enamel decoration, plus a gold central tablet to each side.The item is stamped with a makers mark to the suspension ring (appears to be part of a standard diamond shaped silversmiths mark), and also a boars head mark to the body of the piece.Approximate size: 4.2cm across.Condition: generally good, with solid construction.Some small areas have enamel loss, particularly on the leaves of the wreath and the crown. Viewing recommended.
The Most Honourable Order Of The Bath, Military Division KCB breast badge.Made in silver, silver gilt, and vitreous enamels, with a gold pin to the reverse (tests as 9ct).Seemingly unmarked.Approximate size: 7.5cm x 7.5cm.Plus, The Most Honourable Order Of The Bath silver gilt and vitreous enamel neck badge - approximate size: 5.7cm x 6.1cm (not including the jump ring).Condition: Overall very good - some minor enamel loss to a couple of the rd berries on the wreath of the breast badge, plus some very minor enamel loss above the H in ‘Ich’ and above the I in ‘Dien’.The neck badge has 3 enamelled red berries missing from the wreath, plus some missing red enamel around the crowns to both sides.The gilt finish to the neck badge is worn in place, and the silver base metal has darkened with tarnish.
