A Palais Royal small format sewing box modelled as a pair of books, gilt brass decorative spines, the covers in tortoiseshell inlaid with wirework and mother of pearl flowers within gilt brass spandrils and leaf scroll borders, the interior with mirror over a flush fitted base with mother of pearl silk winder, a pair of scissors with carved mother of pearl arms and loops, a mother of pearl handled stiletto with shield cartouche, a mother of pearl needlecase with enamel pansy motif, and an 18ct two colour gold thimble with leaf border, lacking bodkin and scent bottle, 10.7 x 2.5 x 7cm.
