Samuel Deacon, Barton. A George III mahogany and oak long case clock, the square enamel dial painted with floral spandrels, Arabic numerals, date aperture, eight day two train movement with bell strike, the hood with broken arch pediment, raised on brass caped fluted columns, the case door inlaid with shell paterea, flanked by quarter pilasters, with pendulum, no key, 203.5cm high. N.B. Samuel Deacon was born in Leicestershire in 1746 and was head of the celebrated family of watch and clock makers working at Barton-in-the-Beans from 1771 until 1951. Leicestershire Museums have a collection of his clocks and workshop tools, etc,. He is well documented.

CONDITION REPORT Enamel to the underside of the Masonic ring is damaged in two parts and engraved initials have been rubbed away. The Masonic cufflinks are in good order, as are the other cufflinks.
