The May Day print derives from a Charles Grignon engraving after a painting by Francis Hayman.
A Worcester coffee cup and saucer, c.1770, painted with arrangements of spotted fruit and single scattered sprigs within a shaped border of green enamel edged in gilt rococo scrolls, blue crossed swords and 9 mark, 13.4cm. Cf. Bonhams, The R. David Butti Collection, 10th May 2006, lot 96 for a similar example.
A Continental enamel double snuff box, 19th century, of rectangular form, painted with polychrome figures seated beneath en grisaille trees and bushes, the interior lid with single figures, and a shaped enamel snuff box decorated to the lid with a bird perched on a basket of flowers, the sides with further floral panels reserved on a pink scale ground, some cracks to the enamel, 9.1cm max. A gentleman's 18ct gold Patek Philippe wristwatch: with complications, model 5015J, the circular white enamel dial 29mm diameter with Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, power reserve and moon phase dials in a gold case, 36mm diameter with beaded bezel, the back cover opening to reveal a glazed movement numbered 1959393, also inscribed 'Adjusted to heat and cold isochronism twenty nine 29 jewels Patek Philippe Geneva Swiss 240/152', on leather strap with gold buckle and in fitted case.
English School 18th Century- A miniature portrait of William Barnard of Harwich:-, head and shoulders, with powdered hair and wearing a brown jacket with white lined stock oval, 7.5cm, in a gold frame with blue enamel, seed pearl and hair plait reverse, within a red leather case, together with one other miniature portrait of the same sitter by the same hand. [2] It is likely this is the shipwright and ship builder William Barnard [b.1735], who followed in his father, John's, footsteps and served his apprenticeship in the shipbuilding yards in Deptford

A Victorian black marble perpetual calendar mantel clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell with the backplate stamped with the initials J.B.D within an oval, the three-rod compensating pendulum stamped with a repeat of the mark to the brass bob, the two-piece white enamel dial having a visible escapement with jewelled pallets, black Roman numerals, blued steel moon hands and a sweep seconds hand, above a shaped glazed panel behind which sits the pendulum, with either side having two thermometers with enamelled dials for Fahrenheit and Reaumur, to the left a further dial showing phases of the moon, the date, the day, the month and the equation of solar time, to the right a further enamel dial for the barometer, with gilt hand and pointer, the black marble case shaped in the Egyptian style, height 45.5cm.
Richard et Cie, Paris, a French brass and champleve enamel mantel clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong, the backplate stamped with the serpent trademark of the maker Richard et Cie along with the mark of the blanc roulant maker Samuel Marti, the gilt dial with black Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, the brass case with champleve panels to the flat columns, shaped panels and the moulded cresting to the top, height 29.5cms.
Marenzell, a walnut Vienna grande-sonnerie wall regulator: the eight-day duration, three-train weight driven movement striking the hours on a gong and the quarters on a further two gongs with a repeat of the hour at each quarter, the backplate stamped F. Kunz a Wien, the two-piece white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, blued steel moon hands and signed Marenzell, the walnut case with carved decoration to the canted corners, carved cresting to the top and to the curved base, height 140cms.
Joseph Gent, Walsall, an oak and mahogany longcase clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the thirteen-inch painted break-arch dial having black Arabic hour numerals and five-minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, and brass hands (now painted), the four corners painted with shell and scroll gilt decoration continued into the arch either side of an oval panel depicting a young girl and her dog seated beneath a tree, signed Jos Gent, Walsall, the rear of the date dial stamped for the dial maker Wilson, Birmingham, the oak case with mahogany crossbanding to the trunk door, mahogany panels with boxwood and ebony stringing, a swan-neck pediment to the hood, fluted hood pillars with brass capitals, quartered-fluted columns to the trunk with brass capitals, the base with mahogany veneered canted corners, a shaped raised panel and standing on bracket feet, height 230cms. * Joseph Gent is recorded as working in Walsall from 1805-50 and was the son of the maker John Gent. * James Wilson is believed to be, along with his partner Thomas Osborne, the earliest recorded maker of painted dials for longcase clocks having, in September 1772, placed an advert in Aris's Birmingham Gazette to announce 'White clock dials in Imitation of Enamel, in a manner entirely new' at an age when Wilson was only seventeen and Osborne nineteen. Their dials, and those of Wilson after the dissolution of the partnership in 1777, are considered some of the finest made with superb decoration. Wilson continued at 11, Great Charles Street and would have used a number of artists on his dials. He died in 1809, aged 54.
A Louis XVI style gilt brass and white marble mantel timepiece, unsigned, early 19th century, the circular three pillar single fusee movement with anchor escapement and circular white enamel Arabic numeral dial with fine engraved and pierced gilt brass hands set behind convex bevel glazed hinged engine-turned bezel, the case with urn surmount above laurel cast apron around the dial supported on a demi-lune colonnade with pineapple finials and platform base decorated with milled gilt brass band insert, on ring-turned bun feet, 39cm (15.5ins) high.
