A First World War Period silver-cased Officer's wristwatch head, white dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, import hallmarks London 1919, working order.The case is surface scratched and has some small dents. A non matching replacement crown, the dial is slightly marked and the numerals are rubbed. There is a small hairline crack in the enamel on the bottom edge just under 6 o'clock. Width not including crown is 34mm.
Various silver, including heart-handled tea strainer, Danish torque bangle, spoons etc, 5oz total.All pieces are in overall good condition with some surface scratches and signs of wear. The napkin ring is dented all the way around and the bangle has a few slight dents. The two enamel spoons have no damage.
An ornate 19th century French ceramic 8-day mantel clock, with brass mounts and gilt decoration.The case has a chip on the rear left corner and a partially repaired chip on the front left corner. The movement has no pendulum and unnamed, it is in need of some attention. The dial has a couple of small enamel chips. The gilding is rubbed all over and the top section is missing. The barrel opening is 8cm. The inner width of the brass mounts is approximately 7.5cm.
Various Oriental cloisonne enamel brass items, including miniature vases, box and cover, bowls etc, largest vase height 9cm. The long neck vase is quite heavily damaged.The large bowl has a dent to the foot and faint hairline cracks running down through the body. Some minor loss.The box has areas of enamel loss and is rubbed.Other pieces are in good but used condition.
Three Chinese porcelain snuff bottles, late 19th/20th century, comprising; a cylindrical bottle, painted with an iron-red dragon, four character Qianlong mark; an oviform bottle painted with an iron-red phoenix; and a black ground bottle enamelled with a white dragon, tallest 7.5cm, (3). Condition Report The phoenix bottle with haircracks around the rim.The black ground bottle with flaking to the black enamel and some light scratches.
A group of Canton enamels, 20th century, comprising; a famille-rose bowl painted with figures and deer in a landscape, 19.5cm diameter; six turquoise ground matchbox holders, 4.5cm length; four small square yellow ground dishes, 6.5cm diameter; also a Chinese embroidered child's shoe, (12). Condition Report Bowl- good condition. Matchbox holders- some losses to enamel, mostly minor.Square dishes- overall in good condition.Shoe- some overall wear.
Two Japanese cylindrical koro, Edo period, possibly 18th century, the first decorated in underglaze blue and iron-red enamel with chrysanthemums, the silver cover pierced with the characters fukuju ( fortune), the second painted in kakiemon style with vine leaves against a celadon ground, pierced silver cover, each approximately 7.5cm high, boxed. Condition Report The first with restoration to one foot. Otherwise in overall good condition.
A Chinese export porcelain oval salt, circa 1790, painted with a crest beneath an underglaze-blue border, 9cm length; and an export crested lozenge shaped dish with blue enamel and gilt border, 28.5cm wide, (2). Condition Report Salt- some restoration to rim. Some wear to crest.Dish- some losses to blue enamel on border. Some wear to gilding. Some specking to the glaze.
A small Japanese kutani bowl, Meiji period, the interior gilt with flowers beneath a Chinese poem, the exterior enamelled with flowers on a brown and blue seeded ground, signed, 5cm diameter; and a Japanese porcelain and cloisonné vase, signed, 16cm high, (2). Condition Report Bowl- small repaired chip to rim with some regilding. vase- Some crazing to the enamel but overall in good condition.
A Chinese famille-rose two-handled baluster vase, 19th century, painted on one side with a large panel depicting a battle scene, the reverse with officials seated at a table with attendants, the neck with two smaller figurative panels against a white ground filled with flowers, birds, insects and fruit, 63cm high. Condition Report 2 very fine parallel haircracks, each approx. 5in. length and running almost vertically through the centre of the panel painted with officials, with some loss of enamels to the table. Minor losses of enamel elsewhere.
