CONDITION REPORT: There is a guard chain which is unattached at one end. One small chip to blue leaf enamel. Chinese cloisonne vase of bulbous form, white ground decorated with scrolling flowers and gilded wires, impressed mark to base, 23cm. CONDITION REPORT: One large crack on the neck of the vase, only visable from the inside, a scattering of marks across the enamel and a few small dents. Metal on the inside of the jug is tarnished and dirty, otherwise in good condition. Bottom of the jug has a faint mark on the metal.
Straits porcelain bowl decorated with a phoenix 19.5cm a Chinese Daoguang famille rose cup and saucer, decorated with figures (restored) and a small carved ivory panel. CONDITION REPORT: The ivory piece is not Chinese, looking through it has been a lid, but it is broken in half 4cm x 3.5cm. Straits bowl is 197mm wide, height is 8cm, slight loss of gilding, probably early 20th Century some rubbing to enamel to interior some paint splashes. Teabowl and saucer, bowl 8.5 x 6.5cm and has been heavily restored to the bowl and the saucer, Saucer is 14.5cm wide.
Silver and enamelled bracelet by Murrle Bennett, the clasp stamped M B & Co. CONDITION REPORT: The enamel appears to be in fairly good condition. The clasp is broken but the piece is there. The MB & Co stamp is on this broken piece). The metal of the bracelet is worn with a few rubbed marks and a couple of scratches.
A pair of hexagonal transfer decorated vases and covers, height 48cm (af) and a pair of late Victorian pink opaque glass and enamel decorated baluster vases, height 31cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: Losses, large cracks, rubbing and grazing to lidded vases, in particular one of them. Glass vases have rubbing and gilding, some surface scratches and dirt, some minor nibbles to rim.
A small group of porcelain items to include a four piece tea set, with heavy gilt champlevé enamel effect decoration (7). CONDITION REPORT: All with general wear, rubbing, loss and discolouration to gilt and polychrome decoration, surface pitting and scratches, fritting to glaze, manufacturing imperfections, dirt, etc, with some nibbles to the rims.
A pair of enamel decorated brass opera glasses with floral painted detail, the lid of a 19th century horn snuffbox inset with silver with presentation inscription dated 1839 now mounted as a brooch, the bowl of a Meerschaum pipe (cased) and four pieces from various silver and enamel dressing table sets (7). CONDITION REPORT: The lenses are clear and work with zoom in and out.
An unmarked yellow metal and black enamel mourning brooch set with central diamond and cultured fresh water seed pearls, an 18ct gold and black enamel mourning ring set with diamonds (af), a 15ct gold and diamond set mourning brooch, a 9ct gold crescent moon brooch set with seed pearls and a further unmarked floral motif brooch. CONDITION REPORT: Band of the mourning ring has snapped, general surface wear scratches, nicks, etc, throughout including to the enamel where applicable, pins loose and/or misshapen, etc.
CHARLES HORNER; an Edward VII hallmarked silver green and blue guilloche enamel detailed lobed circular brooch, centred with a trefoil, Chester 1903, diameter 2.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Some small nibbles to enamel edges, general surface wear to metal, pin slightly bent and slightly loose, clasp hook quite short so probably not very secure when worn.
A hallmarked silver brooch modelled as a longboat and a white metal pendant and drop with grape and vine motif and enamel detail, stamped 'CH' and 'Sterling' to reverse, on white metal chain stamped 'Sterling' (chain af). CONDITION REPORT: The chain has broken, general surface wear throughout, some rubbing to the enamel and it appears to be a very thin layer.
THE WATERBURY WATCH COMPANY; a late 19th century hallmarked silver open face crown wind pocket watch, the circular enamel dial set with Roman numerals and with subsidiary seconds dial, case hallmarked for Birmingham 1890, in original J Series 'Duplex' fitted box, and a further later base metal pocket watch (2).
A late 19th/early 20th century Swiss .800 silver fob watch, the enamel dial set with Arabic numerals, diameter 2cm, with painted figural and gilt heightened decoration to the blue guilloche enamelled back, each side set with a band of seed pearls, suspended from a 15ct yellow gold ribbon shaped brooch with 18ct clasp. CONDITION REPORT: Surface wear and scratches commensurate with age, some seed pearls missing. Does not run. Winding crown will not move at all.
An oil lamp with barleytwist type brass column and Corinthian capital to circular base, peach reservoir with enamel detail and peach glass shade with etched floral decoration and clear glass chimney, height to shade rim approx 67cm. CONDITION REPORT: Very minor nibbles to shade interior rim, small chips and nibbles to shade base, some loss and rubbing to enamel decoration and visible manufacturing imperfections, some rubbing to etching on shade and manufacturing imperfections, general surface wear commensurate with age, use and display.
An oil lamp with brass Corinthian column to circular base, green foliate decorated reservoir, duplex burner and green glass globular shade with etched detail and clear glass chimney, height to shade rim approx 73.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Abrasions and uneven finish to shade rim, minor nibbles to shade base, rubbing to enamel and gilt decoration of reservoir, visible manufacturing imperfections, otherwise ok. Some rubbing and manufacturing imperfections to etching on shade, general surface wear commensurate with age, use and display. The font does not screw off, it is unclear whether this is because of design or owing to a seizing in the brass.
Two 19th century Chinese canton enamel famille verte and rose hand painted vases. One raised on carved wooden sockle base with white cartouche panels with scenes of court and flowers, birds etc. The tapered neck decorated with ormolu gilt fu dogs and dragons.. The smaller example of similar form with gilt lion mask handles. Measures 25cms high.
