First and Second World War family grouping, 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal ( T4-216887 CPL. C. F. CAMKIN (misspelt) A.S.C. ) , 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star with clasp 'North Africa 1942-43', Italy Star, 1939-1945 British War Medal with R.A.F. entitlement slip to 1233192 L.A.C Campkin, original addressed postage box and yellow metal and enamel R.A.F. sweetheart badge, records show Corporal Cecil Frederick Campkin enlisted on the 5th October 1916 aged 28, served in France with the 3rd Line of Communications Supply Company, and is entitled to the BWM and Victory Medal, there is also a quantity of photographs and postcards dating from the late Victorian era to the Second World War and after, these include photos of ASC soldiers and several pages from a photograph album believed to have belonged to L.A.C. Campkin with notes outlining his wartime service , photographs include Tobruk, Tunisia, George Formby at an ENSA show in Sicily, Pompeii and Rome, Air Sea Rescue boats in the Adriatic,there is also an interesting diary named to 151146 J.W. Hayhoe which runs from 1917 to 1919, in its 29 closely written pages it includes his journey from Borden in Hampshire to Alexandria in Egypt, the digging of gun pits, bombardment and taking of Nazereth, detailed desciptions of visits to Holy sites including Bethlehem and Golgotha, at the back of the diary is a list of villages visited in Palestine, dates when towns were captured and a record of his army pay, records show 151146 Gunner John William Hayhoe of the Royal Field Artillery entitled to the BWM and Victory Medal,(the connection between Campkin and Hayhoe is unknown) entries in the diary suggest he may have served with the 54th (East Anglian) Division, there are two photographs named to Hayhoe, also an Egyptian phrase book, YMCA guide book to Jerusalem and a British Red Cross Society Nursing Manual named to Mabel Harrison, 96th Essex V.A.D., (qty)
