The final took place at Firhill Park in Glasgow on the 29th April before a crowd of 18,000. After some fine play McLaughlin scored the opening goal for Morton. The score remained 1-0 at half time. In the second half, Morton got a second. Whilst Rangers were able to pull one back, Morton held out to a 2-1 victory. The Shield was presented to Morton chairman, McMillan, by the president of the Scottish League, T. Hart.
