A collection of Chinese Canton enamel wares, 19th century, comprising a large dished plate decorated with auspicious fruits, cash, bats and butterflies, teapot, two large and two small plates, three teacups and saucers. Largest dish diameter 32 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The teapot has small enamel losses throughout but nothing too significant. There are no signs of any obvious chips or restorations. The gilding is rubbed around the handles, rim and spout. There is a pair of scallop moulded teacups and saucers, these are eggshell porcelain. All items ring out when lightly tapped. There is a pair of 19.5 cm diameter side plates, one of which has been broken in two and glued. Both have surface scratches and small enamel losses. There is a pair of 25 cm diameter plates, both have been restored, the undersides have been oversprayed. There is a large 32 cm diameter dished plate, this has a large Y shape hairline crack across the diameter of the foot rim. There are enamel losses to the decoration.
Three Chinese blue and white vases, late 19th century, two with four character pseudo Kangxi marks and a Canton enamel teapot. Tallest 26.3 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The teapot is in good physical order however there are small losses to some enamels and the gilding is rubbed around the handle and spout. The small Meiping vase is in good order with no obvious visible faults. The Gu shape vase has a 3 cm x 1 cm patch of restoration on the top edge of the rim, otherwise it appears to be in good order. The sleeve vase has small patches of restoration to the topside and underneath side of the rim. Otherwise it is in good order with no further obvious faults.
A Japanese cloisonne vase, circa 1900, decorated with two Manchurian cranes in flight above blossoming flowers against a mirror black ground. Height 36.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are some fine cracks to the interior of the rim. There is a fingernail size piece of enamel missing to the rear of the lower bird from which there is a 5 cm diameter circle of hairline cracks. On the right hand side of the body there are fine hairline cracks of +/- 6 cm in length and horizontal cracks issuing from this of 1 cm in length.
A French Brass Carriage Clock, having filigree panels, ivorine enamel face with numeric dial surrounded by a fretwork of floral tendrils and foliage, with four fluted columns and fluted carry handle, platform escapement with bevelled glass viewing platform, circa 1900, approx 8 x 6.5 x 12h cms, complete with winding key.
