'1271 4 6', striking the hours and half hours on a gong, the 3¾in. gilt dial with Roman cartouche enamel numerals and cast floral decoration, within a balloon shaped case with foliate and rocaille mounts and conforming surmount, 15in. (38cm.) high, with key. * Condition: Winds and runs. Strikes correctly. Very original condition - no evidence of restoration. Case is quite dirty and dusty. Some surface rust to gong. Hammer is bent slightly to prevent contact with the gong. Overall wear and tarnishing to gilt metal mounts. Very minor lifting to brass boulle inlay in a couple of places. No losses or repairs.
