Seitliche, an der Schulter ansetzende, in großen Blattvoluten aufsteigende Henkel. Beidseitig der Wandungen antikisierende, szenische Darstellungen, u.a. nach Kupferstichvorlagen von Jean Francois Janinet und Zeichnungen von Jean Guillaume Moitte in weißer, reliefartig aufgetragener sog. Limoges-Emailmalerei auf kobaltblauem Fond. Reiche Goldstaffage mit "Goldbronze". Entw. Ernst August Leuteritz. Modell-Nr. E 103. Schwertermarke. H. 56 cm.Diese von Limosiner Maleremail-Arbeiten beeinflusste Maltechnik wurde im 19. Jh. auf Porzellan adaptiert, zunächst von Manufakturen wie Sèvres, Worcester und Minton ausgeführt und erstmals 1865 auf Betreiben des Modelleurs Ernst August Leuteritz auf Meissener Porzellanvasen angewandt. Dabei wird der weiße, dünnflüssige Schlicker schichtweise aufgetragen und erhält dadurch einen reliefartigen Charakter. Zu den beliebten Themen zählten klassische figurenreiche Darstellungen, zumeist nach Kupferstichvorlagen oder Reliefdarstellungen des Klassizismus.Vgl. Äußerst feines Wiener Emailleschiffin Form eines einmastigen Segelschiffs auf Rädern, sog. Nef. Silber, vergoldet und teilw. emailliert. Schiffförmig gebogter Korpus mit detailgetreu dargestelltem Mast, Segel, Takelagen und baldachinähnlichem Aufbau. Auf dem Vorder- und Hinterdeck sowie im Mastkorb mehrere bewaffnete Figurendarstellungen. Rumpf, Baldachin, Wimpel und Segel verziert mit fein gemalten, polychrom emaillierten Szenen aus der Mythologie. In Rocaillen durchbrochen gearbeitete Reling. Gest., Beschauzeichen, Meister K. u. k. Hoflieferant Ludwig Politzer (tätig seit ca. 1876). Gew. ca. 515 g. H. 18,5 cm. 22,5 cm x 6,5 cm.Ludwig Politzer war einer der bedeutendsten Silberschmiede und Juweliere der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jh. in Wien. Er spezialisierte sich auf die Fertigung emaillierter Kunstgegenstände, Silberarbeiten und ebensolcher Nefs nach Renaissance-Vorbildern.
