Wilhelm Wikstrom. Silver stamp box from Faberge with white guilloche enamel and the monogram of Maria Feodorovna in a cartouche of palm branches on the hinged lid. The body of the box is decorated with laurel garlands on three sides and mounted on 4 spherical legs. The interior is divided in half and has a smooth corner at the base. On its inner side are the hallmarks of Faberge, WV by Wilhelm Wikstrom in an oval shield and the St. Petersburg hallmark of 88 silver standard 1899-1908, assay master Yakov Lyapunov. Round gold enamel powder box Violettes Paris circa 1860. On a noble, dark brown background with a golden net and antique grotesques, the lid depicts a preening nymph with a cupid adorning her hair. The vignette at the base depicts a flirtatious scene, apparently with the same cherub, dove and basket of flowers, again in pursuit of the escaping mistress. Labeled: Violettes Paris. On the inside of the rim there is a memorial date: April 18, 1880. Parisian gold hallmarks from 1838, corresponding to 750 standard, are on the bottom of the powder compact. A silver gilt and enamel president’s brooch for The Yorkshire Agricultural Society which preceded the Great Yorkshire Show. Before its permanent home in Harrogate in 1950 the show used various venues and in 1909 was in Beverley. The president was Arthur Wilson from Tranby Croft of the shipping family Ellerman Wilson Line. In original fitted case. 5.5cm x 4cm.
