North British Railway Enamel Station Running-In-Board LUTHRIE. Blue letters on a cream background. Makers name to bottom right hand corner “Falkirk Iron Co. Falkirk”. Some chipping to centre mainly round the ‘H’. This Board would restore well and is one of only a handful of North British Boards known to have survived. Note: Luthrie was on the south side of the Tay Bridge toward Bridge of Earn, closed 12th February 1951.

BR(S) enamel Signal Box sign SHAWFORD JUNCTION, in two halves, each measuring a very manageable 59" x 12". Opened circa 1891, it was the junction of the London & South Western Railway and the Didcot Newbury & Southampton Railway, the latter coming toward the junction over the Hockley Viaduct, a 33 red brick span over the Itchen; built 1880s. Last used by the railway in the 1960s. Both sections are in very good condition, requiring a basic clean. Just a couple of rusted chips on the 'Junction' portion. A scarce sign from this well known box. Note: Featured in the Sophia Loren film 'Brief Encounter' and also, the last episode of 'One Foot In The Grave' where the scene of Victor Meldrew being run over was filmed.
London Transport enamel Target in bronze frame, TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD. Opened as part of the Central London Railway on 30th July 1900, the Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway ( these days the Northern Line) arrived here on 22nd June 1907 but used the name Oxford Street. When the eastbound Central Line and the southbound Northern Line were linked on 3 September 1908, the whole complex became Tottenham Court Road. The next station north on the Northern line was originally called Tottenham Court Road, but was renamed to Goodge Street at this time.Measures 24" x 20" approximately and is in excellent condition.
GWR Swiss made Pocket Watch number 03050 with an interesting chain that has a 9 carat gold clasp. The enamel face has GWR 05050 within and a second hand below. There is a small, touched-in chip between 4 & 5, the glass is somewhat scuffed but could easily be replaced. The back is engraved with the same and although the engraving isn't horizontal, it does match up indicating the case was probably changed at some point. It belonged to an ex BR Guard, who later became an Inspector. Appears to be in full working order but not guaranteed.
BR(M) enamel Platform Sign ENQUIRIES, F/F. 36" x 12", good colour and shine but some loss and dent on part of the flange. Together with British Railways (M) double sided blackboard/notice board with Totem logo at the top within original maroon paint and a wooden, painted sign re Passengers Looking Both Ways….etc. All recovered from the North Birmingham area.
Enamel Advertising Sign for Rowntrees Chocolates & Pastilles. Measures 25" x 5½" with Royal Cipher in centre. In very good condition with good colour and shine, just a few small face chips., yellow lettering on light blue background, 12" square. Excellent condition with good colour and shine.
Enamel Advertising Sign, no text but an interesting example having a 'brick-work' background with a house on the left and a windmill on the right. Loss at the top. Together with Advertising Tinplate "John Haig Pinch Bottle Scotch Whiskey - Same As Supplied To HM King Edward VII" measuring 19" x27". Additionally, a Garage Closed Sign and a Tinplate Advertising Sign for Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish depicting the Kittens in Boots. This is an original example with "Printed & Produced by Chiswick Products Ltd., London W4 Manufacturers Of Cherry Blossom, Mansion, Min, Cardinal, Seel and Swift info at the bottom. Measures 28" x 17½", good overall condition.
BR(W) Swiss made Pocket Watch number 04207 with an wonderful, fully hallmarked silver chain. The enamel dial shows B.R.(W) 04207 and the second hand below. There are a couple of touched-in chips between 10 & 11 and also between 4 & 5, also, a little crazing. The rear of the case is engraved with the same. The top ring has, at some time broken so the chain is affixed via a normal loop. This doesn't detract, anyone with spare watch parts could replace easily. It belonged to an ex BR Guard, who later became an Inspector. Appears to be in full working order but not guaranteed.
Enamel Advertising Sign RAC Get You Home Service lozenge shape, white lettering on blue with 1950's RAC initials, measures 10.5" x 10.5" with some chipping. Together with an enamel sign "Accumulators Charges - G&MA Notice 28. Black lettering on white background measures 10" x 15" and in excellent condition.
Advertising Enamel Sign, "Security First - Royal Insurance Company Limited - Specialises In Motor Insurance - Policy Holders May Arrange Immediate Repairs. Large company shield in centre with white lettering on red, overall on green background. Measuring 60" x 40" and is in excellent condition.
Enamel Advertising Signs, qty 3, the first "Spratts Meat Fibrine Dog Cakes - Feed The Canine World", the second "Spratts Meat Fibrine Dog Cakes -Famed For Worth Around The Earth". Black lettering on orange background, each measuring 30" x 20" and are in reasonable condition. Plus Spratts Ovals, yellow lettering on light blue. Measures 12" square and is in excellent condition throughout.
