Olympic Games London 1908, a Time-Keeper's badge and Score-keeper's badge, by Vaughton of Birmingham, silvered bronze with blue enamel band encircling the cast head of Athena with laurel sprig, inscribed OLYMPIC GAMES LONDON 1908 TIME-KEEPER and SCORE KEEPER, with brooch fitting verso, stamped 'Vaughton Birm.', in a box, each measuring 5.8cm diam. (Qty: 2)Footnote: Both badges offered here were originally presented to a Mr D Lucas and have remained in his family ever since. Mr Lucas's involvement in the London Summer Olympic Games are noted as a Lap Scorer for the 100km cycling event (second heat) held on July 16 th ; and again for the Final held on July 18th. He was then a Time Keeper on July 21 st and 22 nd for the Athletics events held at the White City Stadium, likely the 200m heats and semi-finals.
An 18 carat yellow gold full-hunter pocket watch, the white enamel dial having a Roman numeral chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial in plain polished outer and inner cases, the front cover engraved with a vacant cartouche, hallmarked Chester 1874, key movement no.3022, diameter of dial 39mm, case 46mm, no personal inscriptions or monogram, gross weight including movement 86.1gms, watch winds freely and is running at present time although no guarantee is given.

A gold finger ring, from early in the reign of George II (1727-1760 AD), with reserved, elongated skeleton and skull-and-crossed-bones motifs on a black enamelled field, inscribed in italic script, infilled in black enamel, to the inner face ''R Dunn ob 28 Jan 1731 aet 46' (for R. Dunn who died on 28 January 1731, aged 46 years"). Property of a Buckinghamshire, UK, gentleman; previously in an old jewellery collection. Extremely fine condition, fully enamelled. A large wearable ring.
11th-12th century AD. A slender gold D-shaped pendant with enamelled spandrels to the upper angles, concentric rings of fine cells with enamel fill and central cross of mushroom-shaped plaques, with later ropework rim. 3.57 grams, 24mm (1"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1970; accompanied by a copy of an expertise on the body of the pendant from Striptwist Ltd, a London-based company run by historical precious metal specialist Dr Jack Ogden, reference number 190327. Fine condition. Rare and important.
16th-17th century AD. A gold D-section ring with clasped hands bezel, green enamel to the cuffs. See Oman, C.C. A substantial gold cruciform champ-levé plaque pendant with enamel-filled cells, scooped finial to each arm and discoid cell, flat-section hoop with applied disc cell. 34.4 grams, 80mm (3"). Property of a gentleman; from a Mayfair, London, UK, gallery; formerly in a 1990s UK collection. Fine condition.
10th-13th century AD or later. A hollow-formed sheet gold tongue-shaped pendant with scalloped suspension loop and granules, obverse with repoussé figure of Christ standing nimbate with 'HC' initials, reverse with raised cloisonné enamel cells forming the cross-on-steps motif. A necklace of gold rectangular segments each with rose and green enamel to the top, inset carved emerald to the obverse and leaf-shaped lower panel with inset cabochon ruby, cluster of emerald and pearl beads below, floral enamel motifs to the reverse; fabric straps and sliding closure. 82 grams, 68cm overall (26 3/4"). From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s; supplied with geologic report No. TL005224, by geologic consultant Dr R. L. Bonewitz. Fine condition.
13th century AD. A heater-shaped bronze harness pendant with gilding remaining on the suspension lug and upper portion of the shield, two lions passant (gardant?) with blue fill. 12.1 grams, 46mm (1 3/4"). From an old North Country collection; formed between 1970-2000. The arms appear at first to be a very early variant of the royal arms of England displaying two lions in place of the normal three, and executed in blue enamel on a gilded field instead of gilded (or) on a red (gules) field. They bear some relation to the royal arms of Denmark which similarly vary between two and three lions, but always in blue (azure) on a gilt (or) field and often with red lilies between. Fine condition.
