Olympic Games London 1908, a Time-Keeper's badge and Score-keeper's badge, by Vaughton of Birmingham, silvered bronze with blue enamel band encircling the cast head of Athena with laurel sprig, inscribed OLYMPIC GAMES LONDON 1908 TIME-KEEPER and SCORE KEEPER, with brooch fitting verso, stamped 'Vaughton Birm.', in a box, each measuring 5.8cm diam. (Qty: 2)Footnote: Both badges offered here were originally presented to a Mr D Lucas and have remained in his family ever since. Mr Lucas's involvement in the London Summer Olympic Games are noted as a Lap Scorer for the 100km cycling event (second heat) held on July 16 th ; and again for the Final held on July 18th. He was then a Time Keeper on July 21 st and 22 nd for the Athletics events held at the White City Stadium, likely the 200m heats and semi-finals.

A slender gold D-shaped pendant with enamelled spandrels to the upper angles, concentric rings of fine cells with enamel fill and central cross of mushroom-shaped plaques, with later ropework rim. 3.57 grams, 24mm (1"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1970; accompanied by a copy of an expertise on the body of the pendant from Striptwist Ltd, a London-based company run by historical precious metal specialist Dr Jack Ogden, reference number 190327. Fine condition. Rare and important.

A hollow-formed sheet gold tongue-shaped pendant with scalloped suspension loop and granules, obverse with repoussé figure of Christ standing nimbate with 'HC' initials, reverse with raised cloisonné enamel cells forming the cross-on-steps motif. A heater-shaped bronze harness pendant with gilding remaining on the suspension lug and upper portion of the shield, two lions passant (gardant?) with blue fill. 12.1 grams, 46mm (1 3/4"). From an old North Country collection; formed between 1970-2000. The arms appear at first to be a very early variant of the royal arms of England displaying two lions in place of the normal three, and executed in blue enamel on a gilded field instead of gilded (or) on a red (gules) field. They bear some relation to the royal arms of Denmark which similarly vary between two and three lions, but always in blue (azure) on a gilt (or) field and often with red lilies between. Fine condition.
