Two Flight and Barr Worcester mugs and a Barr, Flight and Barr coffee can and saucer, circa 1795-1810One mug finely painted in black monochrome with a continuous landscape reserved on a yellow ground, within gilt borders, 8.4cm high, marked in neat black lettering, the other with a dense foliate, scroll and scale band in a bright 'Japan' palette, above additional gilt and flowerhead borders, 9cm high, incised B mark, upper case T in red enamel inside footrim, the can and saucer painted in 'Rich Japan' style with exotic birds and insects amongst brightly coloured bamboo and trees, saucer 12.5cm diam, impressed crowned BFB marks, full circular printed mark to saucer (4)Footnotes:The detail and fine use of perspective suggests that the first-mentioned mug was painted by John Pennington, the neat lettering of the script mark most likely by his hand.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
A mid 19th Century Continental silver-gilt snuff box, of oval outline with engraved decoration all over, reserves of engine-turning floral sprays, husks and scrolls, the cover inset with a domed polychrome enamel plaque decorated with a spray of flowers against a pearlescent ground, unmarked, probably Swiss or Austro-Hungarian, 8cms long, 3.4oz. (gross).
A late 19th Century Continental gilt-metal mounted cranberry coloured glass jewel casket, with coloured enamel overlay decoration, the cover with a hummingbird flanked by four other exotic finches, with lock and resting on beaded wirework feet, last quarter of the 19th Century, unmarked, 22.8cms long overall.
