A Chinese enamelled Yixing pottery hexafoil shaped dish, Qianlong/Jiaqing period, painted in famille verte palette with pavilions in a mountainous river landscape scene, within a yellow ground border, the underside painted with blue enamel flower sprigs, white glazed hexafoil shaped foot, 14cm wide, small splinter chip***CONDITION REPORT***Rim chip at 5 o'clock, a few small firing marks in the glaze, very tiny nibbles to the rim that look to be part of the firing process. An antique high carat gold, black enamel and collet set cushion cut sapphire set 'poison' ring, the stone set in a raised central hinged compartment, with carved black enamelled shoulders, the stone measuring approximately 8mm by 7mm, size S, gross weight 11.4 grams.***CONDITION REPORT***Loss to the enamel within the shank and setting in general. Minor nibbles to the sapphire in places. Signs of general wear to the shank and settings, commensurate with age and frequent use. We believe the sapphire to be original but cannot guarantee. The vendor had the stone examined and the suggestion was that the sapphire was Sri Lankan with no heat treatment, but again there is no guarantee. An oval metal powder box, blue and white enamel guilloche cover with mirror to interior, 53x43mm, with a small down powder puff; a Crummles 42mm enamel box with musical illustration; a small square glass ink bottle with metal cover; a 60mm mixed metal circular box with five rayed star to cover.
George III mahogany bracket clock, domed case with brass mounts, pierced vrilles, circular painted dial signed George Edlin, London, double fusee movement striking on a gong, 41cm.Condition report:The dial door/ front is locked and there is no key to open it, so cannot wind to test if working. There is a winder, and pendulum. The dial appears to have enamel loss below numerals V and VI, and between VI and VII. Signature is faded. The case has various patches of replaced veneer, the domed top surface in particular has some splitting to the veneer along grain lines. There are splits to the dial door frame, just below the lock. A section of the moulding to the domed front has been reattached. The brass elements are well tarnished throughout.
