A Victorian diamond and enamel heart brooch pendant, the diamond and turquoise-set bow suspends a blue enamel heart locket pendant, set with old circular-cut diamonds in silver and gold, 5.2cm high, fitted case by Tessier Condition report: A really pretty example generally all in very good condition for age, a little light wear to diamonds, to be expected.
A gold-mounted English porcelain dog whistle late 18th/19th century, simply decorated with leaf sprigs on a white ground, the gold mount with a white enamel band inscribed 'Accours a Mon Appel' (Run to my call), with a small hinged compartment to the base, contained in a later fitted box, 6.5cm. Provenance: a private collection. Purchased from Gerald Sattin Ltd., 8 January 1981. Condition Report: All in good order.
A silver-gilt and blue enamel travelling dressing table set, by J W Benson Ltd, London 1927, plain mounts, comprising: a hand mirror, two brushes, a scent bottle, a circular box, a nail buffer, a nail file, a manicure item and a pair of gilt scissors, in a fitted velvet lined leather case with gilt mounts and a carrying handle, with a lock, but no key. length of mirror 13cm. Condition Report: Overall some wear to some of the marks, all parts are marked correctly, wear to the gilt mounts, mirror glass is good, bristles are good, scissors are sharp, some slight corrosion to the file, overall the enamel is good, some staining to the velvet interior, case is worn but clasp works.
By David Andersen, a pair of Norwegian silver-gilt and enamel novelty owl pepper pots, modelled in standing positions, one with a green enamel and one with a purple enamel body, with feather decoration, on circular bases, height 5.3cm, approx. weight 1.5oz. (2) Condition Report: Marks are good, gauge is very good and heavy, some slight wear to the high points of the gilt, tip is sharp, some fine surface scratches.
A silver and enamel strut clock, by Williams Limited, Birmingham 1923, shaped rectangular form, dark turquoise enamel decoration, stylised border, gilt face, brass easel strut, length 11cm. Condition report: The clock has not been tested as working but does tick when wound. Marks are good, hinged easel back is good and the clock stands flat on a tabletop, some nicks and scratches to the edges of the enamel, enamel colour is good, clock face is good.
By Gerald Benney, a modern silver and enamel letter opener, London 1972, also marked RVW for the enameller Robert Winter, tapering blade, the handle with geometric bands of black and white enamel decoration, length 23.8cm, approx. weight 3.8oz. Provenance: A Private Collection. Condition report: Marks are good, gauge is good and heavy, tip is sharp, surface scratches and nicks to the enamel, some fine surface scratches and small nicks in the edges.
An Art Nouveau diamond-set flower brooch, centred with an old circular-cut diamond, with shaded polychrome enamel decoration, with further rose-cut diamonds to the border, 2.8cm wide Condition report: Really pretty example. Minor areas of surface enamel loss/wear to the edges of the leaves which is only visible with magnification and does not detract. Otherwise only light scratches/minor wear commensurate with age and use. Pendant fittings.
A steel and gold wristwatch by Girard-Perregaux for Ferrari, the signed red enamel dial with Ferrari prancing white horse, gold baton numerals, subsidiary seconds hand and three subsidiary timing dials, automatic winding, signed to reverse, numbered BJ311 ref 8020, with steel and gold Gerard Perregaux band with deployant clasp, with box and some papers, case 37mm wide Condition reports: Some very minor pitting on the hands, otherwise all in fine original condition and working at the time of reporting. Box has some deterioration to inner fittings. With papers. Foxing to outer box case. A diamond-set gold daffodil brooch, set with circular-cut diamond and with green enamel decoration in gold, 6cm high, case by Garrard Condition report: Some enamel loss to reverse which is not visible when worn. Small chip to the enamel on front which is not obvious without magnification. Small area of solder where the brooch pin catch has been put back on, not visible when worn. Otherwise good condition. Nice fitted box.
