A Japanese bone inro, 19th century, of rounded rectangular form comprising two graduated lidded compartments, exterior with trailing polychrome enamel and brass wire style inlay, with wooden gourd form toggle on original brown cord, 3 x 1½in. (7.6 x 3.7cm.). * Condition: Split to bone on top compartment, which has allowed the floor of the compartment to become loose. Part of wire inlay above base has lifted slightly.
A Chinese famille verte planter, 19th century, of square form with uprising concaved sides to flared rim, the four sides with serpentine dragon designs, interior sides with peach laden branches, interior floor with dragon decoration, Ming Chia-Ching marks to underside, 7 x 7in. (17.7 x 17.7cm.), 4in. (10.1cm.) high. * Condition: Some dulling to enamel to well. Some wear to decoration to two sides - the other two better. No chips or cracks.
A pair of Chinese famille rose jardinières, 19th century, of tapering rectangular form, the top edge decorated with floral and moth design, the body with enamelled decoration of ceremonial scenes, with original tin liners, 9 x 6in. (22.75 x 15.25cm.), 7in. (17.75cm.) high. (2) * Condition: Some rubbing to enamel on both. One has a large glued repair to one end. The other is in good condition, with no cracks or chips.
Channel Islands dog club interest, a silver medal awarded for merit by The British Bulldog Club, hallmarked for J.A. Restall Birmingham 1938; together with silver and enamel wreath form medal presented by The Philadelphia Dog Show Association, both awarded to Mr. Reg. R. Podger for his champion bulldog, Springhurst Earl. (2)
A Bohemian Schwarzlot black enamel decorated hunting rummer, mid-19th century, the circumference of the ovoid bowl decorated with a Stag hunting scene - a rifle-man taking aim from the cover of a tree trunk, his dog leaping after the startled stag, on a four sided chamfer cut stem with black enamel decoration, on stepped square base, 14.4cm. high. * Condition: Barely visible 1mm frit to inside rim. A few small scratches and couple of tiny edge frits to base. Two ground shallow chips to edge of base from the making.
An 18ct gold, enamel, diamond and ruby tiger brooch by Asprey, in yellow and white gold with black enamel stripes and red translucent enamel nose, the eyes each set with a single ruby and the head highlighted with panels of pavé set eight cut diamonds, signed 'Made in Italy for Asprey', 5.2cm. long.
A Victorian 18ct gold full hunter fusee pocket watch by Edward Hayward of Folkestone, the key wind gilt full plate movement signed and numbered '107588', the white enamel Roman dial with subsidiary seconds at six, the engine turned case by W.W. J. W., London, 1874, with key. * Condition: In working order. Dial in good condition, with no cracks or chips. Some wear to case from use with rubbing to engine turned decoration back and front. A few small dings to edges. Movement appears to be in very good condition, with no visible corrosion or damage.
A 9ct gold cased full hunter pocket watch by J. W. Benson of London, the signed 37mm. white enamel Roman dial with subsidiary seconds at six, the 15 jewel movement also signed 'J.W. Benson Swiss Made', in a plain 9ct gold case, numbered '33250', hallmarked J. W. Benson Ltd., London 1935, with a 9ct rose and white gold fob chain. * Condition: In good working order. Dial undamaged with no chips, flakes or hairlines. Small dent to back of case, and a very faint, tiny ding to edge of front of case. Dent to side of case at 5 o'clock, extending into the surround around the movement (visible when back of case removed). Chain in good condition.
A Victorian 18ct gold full hunter pocket watch, with three quarter plate fob wind movement numbered '77821', 43mm. Roman white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands, the plain hunter case, with matching numbers, by Max Steyerman, London 1884, interesting Scottish inscription to dust cover for the Stonefield Independent Co-Operative Society, Blantyre, 1889. * Condition: Watch works briefly but does not run for long - will need oiling and probably a service. Case in good condition with no dings or dents, just typical scratching from using a metal instrument to open. Fob winder is steel (possibly a replacement). Movement very clean with just a light scratch across plate. Dial good with no hairlines. Movement dust plate finely engraved with a presentation inscription.
A 19th century French rose marble and ormolu three piece clock garniture, Japy Freres signed eight day bell chime movement, no. 520241, within an ormolu drum form case with flaming torch and quiver surmount, the Arabic white enamel dial with painted swags of pink roses, pierced gilt hands, on ormolu mounted rose marble waisted pedestal and wider base, with bronze winged cherub to the right holding a bow, on gilt toupie feet, 13½in. (34.25cm.) high, the matching pedestal urns of ovoid form, with ormolu fruit finals and rams head mounts, 10in. (25.4cm.) high. (3)
A late 19th century French rose marble portico clock garniture, the eight day movement, no. 4326, with outside count wheel bell strike and floral basket pendulum, within a gilt brass drum case with crossed lute and lyre surmount, the white enamel Arabic dial with painted swags of pink roses, signed for the retailer 'Philibert, Caen', behind bevelled glass, on rose marble portico base, raised on gilt toupie feet, 16in. (40.5cm.) high, the matching urns 9¾in. (24.7cm.) high. (3)
A French 19th century tortoiseshell and brass boulle work bracket clock, Samuel Marti, eight day, outside count wheel bell strike movement, no. 15010, matching no. to dial backplate, mask sunburst pendulum, the 5in. engraved gilt dial with Roman cartouche enamel numerals, the pagoda top case with gilt bronze cherub surmount, four urn finials and gilt mask, foliate and floral mounts, the arched and glazed side lock door with decorative mounts of swags and a pair of doves, the clock interior with boulle scroll work back panel and chequered tile effect floor, on tapered foliate feet, 19in. (48.25cm.) high. * Condition: Small edge chip to enamel on numerals X and VIII. Two edge flakes to enamel on V and larger chip to III. Tortoiseshell throughout in good order, with just one small chip to top of front 'roof' section and smaller chip to back edge of left hand panel on 'roof. Small corner chip to back of top of case. Some crazing and craquelure in places to shell. Brass inlay in VG cd., with just minor lifting to right hand side of front 'roof' panel. Interior boulle inlay also VG. Older regilding to all metalwork.
A brass cased Smith's Astral ships bulkhead clock, with brass and bevelled glass porthole style opening door, 8in. white enamel dial with wind up hours, minute & sweeping seconds hand movement, brass case. * Condition: In working order but would benefit from a service. Replacement pull handle on door opening.
A French gilt brass cased repeating carriage clock with alarm, mid-20th century, the white Roman enamel dial with subsidiary alarm dial to lower section, in plain Boite Jong case with shallow rectangular panels of lapis lazuli inlay to upper and lower borders, on four bun feet, the twin train 11 jewel gong striking repeater movement with alarm, 7¾in. (19.75cm.) high, 3½in. (8.8cm.) wide.
A rococo gilt metal Louis XV style mantel clock, late 19th century, by the Ansonia Clock Co., signed to 52mm. Roman enamel dial and backplate, typical rococo style floral and foliate decoration with standing cupid figure, his right hand holding an arrow pierced heart, his left hand bearing a bow, a sash worn quiver to his left hip, the rococo base supported on four scroll feet, 8½in. (21.5cm.) high.
A French gilt brass and champlevé enamel four glass mantel clock, late 19th / early 20th century, the white 90mm. enamel Arabic dial within a champlevé enamel and beaded bezel, the eight day, twin train gong striking movement by Vincent & Cie, no. 1357 48, with mercury pendulum, the bow fronted case with champlevé enamel uprights and conforming pierced frieze, apron and urn surmount, on four beaded toupie feet, presentation inscription to lower front dated 1911, 15in. (38cm.) high, 7in. (17.75cm.) wide.
A French gilt brass carriage clock, early 20th century, in squat Corniche case, white enamel Roman dial, bevelled glazed sides, platform escapement visible through oval top light, eight day twin train movement striking a gong on the half hour and hour, in original fitted morocco case with glazed front panel, with key, 6¾in. (17.3cm.) high.
A late 19thC French bronzed spelter and marble clock garniture by Marti, one barrel clock flanked by a seated classical figure, Le Penseur, floral painted enamel dial bearing Arabic numerals, eight day movement, half hour striking on a bell, raised on a rectangular white marble base and four paw feet, 36cm x 16cm x 29cm, and a pair of vases and covers of urn form raised on three goat monopodia, square marble base, raised on paw feet, 33cm high.
