A Chinese Canton enamel Ruyi sceptre, 19th century, undulating handle with enamel decoration of many auspicious symbols over a yellow ground, light blue edges with trailing scroll design, lobe head bears five bat decoration with overlying character mark, 9½in. (24.2cm.) long.* Condition: Some wear to enamel decoration to underside of handle, and a few minor rubs elsewhere. Wear to blue scrolled decoration to centre of sides from handling. Small chip to enamel and ding to metal border to underside of the head. A few small discoloured spots to enamel at joint with metal border due to ingress of metal tarnish.
A fine 19th century French champlevé enamel mantle clock, concave 65mm. gilt bronze circular dial with eight day striked movement, Arabic numeral chapter markers bearing centralised polychrome enamel roundel, with blue steel hands beneath a circular bevelled glazed door, champlevé enamels decorate the exteriors, held in a case of Persian architectural design, the roof with four corner disc and knop finials with centralised champlevé dome surmounted by disc and knop finial, stepped base with toupie supports, 12in. (30.5cm.) high.
An early 19th century Chinese Canton famille rose vase, ovoid form with moulded linen fold decoration and gilt twin-Buddhistic lion handles, the body decorated with two main scroll bordered panels, one depicting noble figures and their attendants in a lakeside palace, the other Oriental pheasants, peacocks and insects amidst flowering foliage above rockwork, smaller conforming reserves to the sides and neck, on an overall floral and foliate enamelled gilt ground, 17in. (43cm.) high.* Condition: 3in. crack to rim - not visible to exterior. Also, large star of hairline cracks to base. Gilt wear to handles and some gilt wear elsewhere. A few minor glaze chips to foot. Some small flaws to enamelling in places - at first glance these appear to be flakes from the enamel, but they are in fact small patches where the enamel has not adhered properly during firing.
A pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose beaker vases, 19th century, cylindrical form with accented central waist, flared everted rim with ruyi sceptre decoration, white glazed body with enamel decoration of many auspicious symbols, flared base with alternating colour panel border, 17½in. (44.5cm.) high. (2)
An early 19th century Chinese Canton famille rose vase, ovoid form with everted scalloped rim, twin gilt Buddhistic lion handles and two moulded dragons to either side of the neck, decorated with exotic birds and butterflies amidst flowering plants and rockwork within Greek keyed borders, the neck and borders similarly decorated, 14¼in. (36.25cm.) high.* Condition: No chips or cracks. Some gilt wear to handles and dragons, and some rubs to decoration to rim. There are a few flaked areas to the yellow fruit in the decoration, and some flaking from the enamel on the keyed borders. One pheasant's tail has a rubbed patch.
A L'Epée gilt brass cased repeating carriage clock with alarm, third quarter 20th century, the plain, Anglaise case with reeded handle, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary Arabic alarm dial, twin train 11 jewel movement signed 'L'Epée', striking a coil on the hour and half hour, 5in. (12.75cm.) high without handle.
