Captain Henry Wellington Palmer, 74th Highlanders group of three medals comprising; (KCB) The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, neck badge in gold and enamel, The South African medal 1853 and the South Africa medal 1877-8 (RENAMED) (3) Later Major General Henry Palmer CB (1828-1891) Born at Tallaght House, County Dublin the son of major James Palmer Sr. He served with the 74th Highlanders throughout the Kaffer War of 1851-1853. 1864 as major of 90th Regiment of Foot (Perthshire Volunteers). 1868 Stationed in the Punjab, East Indies, 1873 Lt Col, 1878 Major General. Commanded the Regiment from April 1873 to 1878 and retires whereupon he recieved the CB for 30 years service
A Royal presentation two piece gold tie pin and stud set, the reverse engraved "To F.Harris from H.R.H. Prince of Wales 1909", the front with the Prince of Wales Feathers in blue and white enamel complete in Collingwood & Co. fitted box with Prince of Wales Feathers to lid. (slight damage to blue enamel).
A boxed set of Russian silver cloisonne enamel teaspoons, three of the spoons with turquoise leaded border and coronet finial, the bowl marked with the "84" silver standard and makers mark "M3", the other three with flower decoration marked to stem with "84" silver standard and maker "11A".
An early 20c small French carriage clock retailed by Elliott & Son, London and contained in a glazed brass oval case, decorated with raised tendrils and flowers. The single train movement has a lever platform escapement and a rectangular white enamel dial with Roman numerals and trefoil hands, 4.25" tall overall.
A late 19c German mantel clock by the Hamburg American Clock Co. The mahogany case has an arched top and plain corner columns on a stepped base. The panel below the 5" diameter white enamel dial is inlaid with an urn within a boxwood stringing frame and the case has wooden bun feet. The movement is countwheel striking on a gong and the clock stands 13" tall overall.
A late 19c French boullework mantel clock, the waisted case being profusely inlaid with brass foliate designs and decorated with gilt cast brass swags, heads and foliage shaped feet. The gilt cast brass dial has blue enamel numeral plaques and a glazed aperture below to view the sunburst pendulum. It is surmounted by a gilt cast angel, the movement is rack striking on a bell and the clock stands 17.5" tall.
A late 19c French ormolu figural mantel clock depicting a cherub holding a cockerel. The clock movement is contained in a rectangular fluted column and stands on a stepped base. The clock movement has a convex white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and fancy gilt hands and is countwheel striking on a bell, 16" tall overall.
A late 19c German two weight Vienna regulator. The slim walnut case has turned ebonised pilasters to the front door and a shaped base. The top has a built in curved and moulded cresting (all finials missing), the two piece enamel dial has Roman numerals and the clock has brass bound weights and a wooden pendulum, rod a-f. It strikes hours and halves on a gong, 42" tall overall.
