Three English and Continental Art Nouveau silver and translucent enamel brooches and a similar pendant, the English examples both Birmingham, by James Fenton, 1908 and maker S & E, 1910 ++The pendant originally with a pearl or some other item en tremblant now lacking but the lot in otherwise good condition
A pair of Jules Loebnitz & Fils faience architectural panels, modelled in high relief by J Hugues, signed and brightly painted with the full length figures of a dancing girl or windswept young woman with flowers, both with blue painted mark J LOEVNITZ & FILS PARIS, one inscribed "A Monsieur Clemencet Souvenir d'Avril 1894" and signed J Blanchard, 55 x 25.5cm, impressed J LOEBNITZ PARIS, 1894 These rare panels of the Belle Epoque are contemporary smaller versions of the pair which form the focal point of the facade of the Cafe Riche in Paris. Commissioned by the architect Albert Ballu (1849-1939) they are now in Rouen Museum. The Cafe Riche, which was completed in 1894 and dismantled only four years later, was aptly named for its ornate decoration also included elaborate polychrome mosaics and it became a popular haunt of the Impressionists, including Monet, Renoir and Degas. ++One panel with small triangular shaped piece of the lower left corner broken off and glued back into position also with minor edge and corner knocks. Both with odd spot of flaking of the enamel where most thickly applied or highest relief. No professional restoration.
A Brameld earthenware dessert service, moulded with borders of 'C' scrolls and painted with scattered groups of flowers, the rim outlined in blue enamel, the service including a comport, 14cm h, impressed BRAMELD or unmarked, c1825 (9) ++One of the square dishes with some localised staining of the glaze. The comport and one of the shell dishes both with very mild staining of the glaze which is hardly noticeable. The second of the two shell dishes with a rim chip on the underside not noticeable when normally viewed
A Castleford type felspathic stoneware teapot and cover, sprigged with classical figures and foliage framed in blue enamel, 14cm h, impressed 22, c1810; a dated pearlware jug, transfer printed and enamelled with Chinese scenes, inscribed in red script Eliz H Williams 1810, 12.5cm h (3) ++The teapot in fine condition, the jug with old restoration to the lip and descending crack in the rim, some treatable discolouration of the glaze
A pair of Staffordshire pearlware figures of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra, reclining on rocky bases, the queen in a loose primrose yellow chiton painted with flowers in turquoise drapery, the asp coiled around her left arm, her companion in an unusual silver lustre and brown scaly cuirass and orange lined cloak, the hilt of his sword in his right hand, 20cm h, c1820 The marble Cleopatra was first recorded in 1512 as having recently been acquired by the Pope. It remains in the Vatican (Galleria della Statuae). The companion figure derives from an earlier model of Rinaldo, reused as 'Mark Anthony'. ++Old discoloured restoration to Cleopatra's right arm and the odd minor spot of flaking, in particular to the blue and black enamel detail of the male figure, his nose slightly grazed but good examples, particularly well coloured and free from any professional restoration
Three Derby coffee cans and a cup, painted with roses on a 'Bloom' and jewelled ground of gilt stars, an oval landscape "In Cumberland", a border of pearls above an apple green ground or a yellow ground gilt raindrop pattern, approximately 6.5cm h, Duesbury & Kean, one Robert Bloor & Co, puce or red painted mark, c1790-c1820 ++Rose painted can - slight wear to the gilding. Landscape can - in fine condition with a couple of small spots of flaking of the enamel from the landscape. Green ground can - slight wear and scratches, small rim chip. Yellow ground cup - in good condition
A pair of Derby figures of America and Asia from the set of the Four Quarters of the Globe and a Derby figure of a flower girl, all painted in bright enamels and gilt, 13-15cm h, Robert Bloor & Co, incised No 200 or No 47 respectively, c1820 ++America - feathers in the crown slightly chipped, some localised flaking of the green enamel on the tree stump. Asia - the small lamp in the figure's right hand restored. Flower girl - the flowers in her hair slightly chipped but all three in acceptable condition
