18K Yellow gold ring set with a rose cut diamond in silver surrounded by blue enamel. Set with one rose cut diamond set in a silver setting (approx. 7.20 x 6.40 x 1.70 mm, VS / I-J). In reasonable condition, small repair at the bottom of the setting and light signs of use on the enamel. Hallmarks: Dutch assay mark 750. Ring size: 17.5 mm / 55 mm. Weight: 4.17 grams.

18th Century English yellow gold 'Stuart Crystal' or 'Memento Mori' ring. So called Stuart Crystal ring with Memento Mori of a skelleton. With initials SE in gold thread and inscription 'March 29th 1702' on the inside. In reasonable condition, rock crystal is damaged and wear to enamel. Reducing piece on the inside. Tests as 81% gold (reducing piece 54% gold). Ring size: 16 mm / 50 mm. Weight: 8.73 grams. Stuart Crystal takes it's name from the rock crystal jewellery worn by loyalists of the Stuart monarchy after the execution of King Charles I in 1649. Early Stuart Crystal jewellery usually featured a miniature of the king, or his monogram, beneath faceted rock crystal. These rings were initially worn secretly by supporters of the crown after his death. Later in the 17th and beginning 18th century, Stuart Crystal was made and worn for more personal reasons, particularly in memory of lost loved ones.

Antique English 18K yellow gold mourning ring from 1831 set with pearls, black enamel and a hairpiece. In the middle a hairpiece surrounded by 10 half pearls (probably natural). On the inside the inscription: Margaret Day, Ob 8 Dec, 1831 Olt 68 (died December 8, 1831 at the age of 68 years), on the outside the letters in black triangular enamel: in memoriam. In good condition considering the age, minor wear damage to the enamel (see photos). Hallmarks: English assay mark, crown, 18 (18K content), leopard head London, Q 1831, WE William Eaton (active late 1st quarter and 2nd quarter 19th century). Ring size: 16.25 mm / 51 mm. Antique Tunisian 9K enamel brooch 'en tremblant' with rose cut diamond. Probably a wedding gift. The blue enameled swallow and flower are set on a spring. The leaf veins have a lighter blue enamel and the ears of corn are set with rose cut diamonds in a closed setting. Set with 41 rose cut diamonds of which the largest is approx. Ø 3.8 mm (chips). In reasonable condition, a new layer of dark blue enamel has been placed over the light blue lucid enamel and one spring no longer functions properly. Hallmarks: Tunisian assay marks rooster 9 - 19K (1917-1940), including a promulgation mark from 1940. L x W: 11 x 5 cm. Weight: 30.51 grams.
