A diamond and gem set enamelled bird brooch, of abstract form and enamelled in tones of orange and blue, with a round cut ruby eye and eight-cut diamond accents, modelled on a branch set with two round cut emeralds, measures 5cm by 6cm (a.f.) The top section of the bird's beak is broken off and one leaf section is bent forward. The enamel is patchy but appears intact. The pin has been repaired. It is stamped '750' and in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; total estimated diamond weight 0.14 carat approximately, colour H/I/J, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 23.4 grams. CR made 22nd August 2016.

It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'PB', with duty mark, lion passant mark, 1799. There is no town/assay office mark. The enamel is in good condition with no losses. Gross weight 5.45 grams. An enamel, seed pearl and garnet set brooch, a vacant circular centre within a border of six seed pearls in yellow leaf motif settings, with a radiating border of blue enamel fleur-de-lys and red enamel flowers, spaced by clusters of seed pearls and round cabochon garnets, measures 3.8cm in diameter (a.f.) There are heavy losses to the enamel detail. The pearls with some discolouration. The vacant centre may have originally contained a glazed locket. It fastens with a pin and revolver clasp. The clasp appears later with evidence of solder. It is not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 11.23 grams. CR made 26th October 2016.
