13th-14th century AD. A horse pendant with quatrefoil plaque, integral lug to the top for suspension hoop, now incomplete; plaque with crossed key design set in a field of dark blue enamel. 8.7 grams, 38.5mm (1 1/2"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the 1970s. The key is a common bearing for insignia of religious houses, particularly those under the patronage of Saint Peter. The insignia of two keys in saltire on an azure background possibly belongs to the Bishop of Gloucester. Fine condition.
2nd century BC-1st century AD. A bronze discoid mount with dentilled edge, ropework border with enamel fill, plaque with central boss and radiating enamelled arms, each arm with sockets for two inlaid discs; three attachment spikes to the reverse. 19 grams, 47mm (1 3/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the 1970s. Fine condition.
New Kingdom, 1150-1077 BC. A gold ring with stirrup-shaped shank, bead of gold to the base, surface decorated with chevron pattern; lotus flower to each shoulder with blue enamel; oval swivel bezel threaded through gold wire, sides with petal-shaped cells filled with red, blue and green enamel; set with a limestone scarab with detailed carapace, the underside engraved with Horus as a hawk wearing the Pschent crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, uraeus cobra behind wearing the Hedjet crown of Lower Egypt; table to the front with ostrich feather of Maat to the top. 8.15 grams, 38.46mm overall, 24.55 x 15.15mm internal diameter (approximate size British I, USA 4 1/2, Europe 7.44, Japan 7) (1 1/2"). Property of a South West London gentleman; acquired by his father in the 1970s; by descent 1986. Very fine condition. A large wearable size.

A gold ring comprising a D-section hoop with lateral panels of niello-filled scrolled-tendril ornament, transverse bands to the shoulders with scroll detailing to the rim, bezel with white enamel skull and protruding crossed bones, garnet cabochon eyes. A bronze spur formed as a u-shaped plate with bulb terminals with incised cross ornament with traces of red enamel; above, a large conical bulb with hatched upper surface. 34 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). Previously in a private collection, Suffolk, UK; acquired in the 1990s. Fine condition. Rare.
