A Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque to Private R.S. Buckley, 15th Battalion, Prince of Wales Own Civil Service Rifles, Killed in Action 28th March 1918. British Victory Medal (535540 Pte. R.S. Buckley. 15-Lond.R.), nearly extremely fine Bronze Memorial Plaque 'Robert Stanley Buckley', with enclosure slip and in card box of issue. The History of the Prince of Wales Civil Service Rifles, published by Somerset House 1921. Official War Office correspondence to Mrs E. Buckley, wife of above. Silver and enamel 'sweetheart brooch' Civil Service Rifles. Private Robert Stanley Buckley of the 15th Battalion Prince of Wales Civil Service Rifles, late of 9 Sanhill Road, Maida Vale, London and former clerk with the Savings Bank Department, Blythe Road, Kensington, London, was killed in action, whilst attached th the 9th battalion London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) on the 28th March 1918, during the German Spring offensive of that year, he was 27 years old. Because of the intensity of the fighting during that period Rifleman Buckley was buried where he fell on the battlefield, his body was later exhumed and re-intered in the Chauny Communal Cemetery, where a headstone bears his name, he is remembered with honour.

Two Continental porcelain plaques moulded in relief and enamel decorated with Classical figural landscapes, one Bacchanalian cherubs the other with riders being shot from their mounts by cherubs with bows, within gilt scroll borders, underglaze blue and N for Ernst Bohne of Rudolstadt, 21cm x 13cm.
GWR Porter woven Armbadge with original strap and buckle. Together with a GWR Pilotman woven Armband and a GWR Look-Out enamel Armband minus leather strap. Also, qty 4 different style, woven Capbadges comprising: GWR; GW & LMS; GW & LM&SR; GW & L&NWR. Together with GWR Hotels 7" Side Plate manufactured by Bridgwood, England in July 1940 as indicated on the base. Blue and gold rim with gold pattern completing the lip. Slight crazing does not detract at all. Together with a South African Railways small china Milk Jug, manufactured by Continental China South Africa. Green rim and green Coat of Arms. Measures 2¼" high and is in mint condition.

Llanfair is the famous location just over the Menai Bridge into Anglesey, more commonly known as Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, easily pronounced by your auctioneer today. Measures 60" x 15" each designed to overlap when affixed together. In extremely good condition.
Highland Railway brass Thunderer Guards Whistle. Ornate engraving 'H.R.' on the lip beneath the makers name. Excellent condition with original pea and loop for chain. Together with Highland Railway enamel Look - Out Armband. Red lettering on white background. Only one strap remains but good overall condition and of some scarcity. Together with a collection of Buttons, Badges, Whistles and Carriage Keys. Buttons include Great North of Scotland Railway and Highland Railway. Must be viewed.
Metropolitan & Great Central Joint Committee enamel Sign: 'Notice - Cars Must Not Be Parked In Station Approaches And Goods Yards - Offenders Are Liable To Prosecution Under The Joint Committee By-Laws'. Black lettering on a white background and a maroon border. Ex Pinner station forecourt. Excellent condition and a great rarity, not seen before.
LMS double sided enamel Direction Sign LMS STATION BOURNVILLE mounted in original bracket frame. The station opened in 1876 and was named Stirchley Street. In 1880 it was re-named Stirchley Street and Bournville and in 1904, simply Bournville. Quite stunning being in virtually mint condition and not faded at all. Famous location of the Cadbury origins.
Great North of Scotland Railway, fully titled, enamel 40/- Notice As To Trespass Sign. Measuring 24" x 18", it has 9 lines of text beneath the company title and is brown lettering on an off white background. Signed by T.S. Mackintosh, Secretary, Aberdeen 1st October 1909. One of the best by far that we have seen having only three minor chips, one of which just touches a couple of letters.
