Charles Frodsham, London: An unusually large 18ct yellow gold full hunter minute repeating keyless chronograph watch, the polished case hallmarked AS, London 1879, with fob winder, split pusher to the band above 11 o'clock, recessed repeating slide and gold hand set button at twelve, the gilt three-quarter plate movement with tuning fork lever, spiral blued steel balance spring, repeating on two polished steel gongs, signed and numbered 'No. 06037 AD Fmsz Chas Frodsham, 84 Strand, LONDON', 48mm. white enamel dial signed 'CHARLES FRODSHAM 06037 AD Fmsz', with Roman numerals, outer ring calibrated for minutes and chronograph fifths, with Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary dials at twelve and six for constant seconds and 60-minute register, lacks glass.* Condition: Lacks glass. The sweep seconds hand is binding on the minute hand so will require careful adjustment to correct. The watch winds and runs. The push button repeat function is working correctly. The case is not engraved and is in very good condition, with no dings or dents. Minor wear to outer edges. Movement very clean. Dial very good with no hairlines, chips or wear.
A French gilt brass striking and repeating carriage clock, in gorge case, the top with repeat button, the white enamel dial signed ' Idrac-le-Roy, 21 Rue de Bouloi, Paris ', with subsidiary date and alarm dials beneath, the movement signed 'H.J. No.1866' striking on two gongs, the case numbered 471866, 5¼in. (13.25cm.) high, gong damaged.
A French two train ebonised and inlaid vineyard style wall clock, 19th century, the 10in. alabaster dial (cracked), with raised Roman enamel cartouche numerals enclosed by ornate gilt metal surrounds, within an elongated hexagonal glazed case inlaid with brass and tortoiseshell foliate motifs, with eight day, twin train pendulum movement striking the hours and half hours on a gong, 20¼ x 19¾in. (51.5 x 50cm.).
A French Art Nouveau bronzed spelter and green onyx clock garniture after Julian Causse, early 20th century, with a classical beauty seated upon a naturalistic knarled tree with floral decoration, with painted patination, enclosing an eight day bell strike movement with ivory enamel dial signed 'Fonderies & Cuiveries Liegeoises', on a stepped green onyx octagonal base, with title plaque 'Voix de la Lyre, Par J Causse (Sculptr.)', 20¼in. (51.5cm.) high; the two three branch garniture candelabra with similar classical figures, one onyx base a/f. (3)* Condition: Onyx bases – main clock abse and one candelabra base have some damage. The clock base has a small chip and repaired cracks to back left corner, repaired cracks to front left corner and a long crack with some chipping along its length to RH side. One of the candelabra bases has a large chip from one corner and that half of the base section is broken into several pieces and is coming away from the upper section (it is held in place only by the baize).Spelter: The tip of one branch beside the clock figure has been off and has an old glued repair, which is giving way. There is a paint blister to the back of one of the candelabra figures’ neck. Otherwise the figures are good.Clock: Lacks pendulum and key so cannot test to see if working. Dial VG.
