A Japanese Satsuma ware bowl, Meiji period (1868-1912), by Kinkozan, heavily potted of lobed circular form, painted with figures in a watery landscape with ducks on a lake, surrounded by wisteria, the border with scrolls, Kinkozan seal mark to base in gilt, 19cm diameter, and two saucers, painted with cherry blossoms or chrysanthemum, Oguri su zo mark to base, 12.8cm diameter (3)Condition report: Bowl - interior enamel badly lost with water stains, exterior with surface scratches and enamel losses, rim and foot rim chipped. Saucers - No obvious fault.
A French brass cased carriage clock, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, the sides printed with decorative cartouches, 17.5cm high (handle extended)Condition report: There is some wear to the lacquering on the brass. The panels to the sides are faded and there is crazing/losses to the varnish.The balance wheel moves freely but it has not been wound up.

A PAIR OF JAPANESE ENAMELLED BRONZE AND SILVER VASES MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY Both with a bulbous body, raised on a scalloped foot and with a tall neck, decorated in enamels, gold and silver on the bronze ground with a continuous design of chickens amongst flowers and other plants, the base of each neck with a cloisonné enamel band of two confronting ho-o birds and a paulownia mon, the necks and feet with elegant scrolling designs and stylised flowers embellished with polychrome enamels, both signed in a gilt rectangular tablet underneath, both approx. 26.5cm. (2) Provenance: a London private collection, acquired in the early 20th century and thence by descent.
