A Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) Commanders neck badge in silver gilt and enamel, numbered 2590 verso in fitted Collingwood red leather case, together with an Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) Civilian Division 2nd type, cased, both with miniature examples and supporting paperwork and photographs. The C.V.O. was awarded to (Arthur) Graham Reynolds (1914-2013) in 2000 for services to The Royal Collection. Reynolds was a renowned art historian who lived near Bury St Edmunds until his recent death. Educated at Queens College, Cambridge he joined the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1937. At the outbreak of WW II V&A staff as civil servants became part of the "Treasury pool" where Reynolds was allocated to the Civil Defence Region with a key role to play in air attacks and in case of invasion
