Brooklands official race card 1934, emergency edition. British Racing Drivers Club badges, hallmarked silver Hull Cycle Trades exhibition director badge. The British Racing Drivers Club Limited memorandum and articles of association of 1931. Cond: Racecard cover loose, chip to enamel of 1935 and 1958 badges, others good condition.
Perfume bottles etc to include a 19thC cranberry glass bottle with finger ring and chain, bottle with decorative label and metal cap, round black glass bottle with 9ct gold rim and base of stopper, glass bottle with silver and blue enamel top and a tin of Rene et Cie Palma violet powder.Condition ReportBottle with label with cap fixing a/f. 1950s/60s London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAG (Compulsory), an E9 version with with runners on both sides and containing a full complement of 18 E-PLATES. A traditional bullseye 'boat' flag, (two-sided, hollow) measuring 18" x 31" (46cm x 79cm). A few chips to the enamel on one side but overall a good example. [1 + 18 plates]
Trio of London Underground enamel PLATFORM INDICATOR DISPLAY PLATES: 'Barking', 'Plaistow' and blank. These are the type once common on the District/Circle Line where arrows would illuminate by the destinations for the coming trains. They measure 29" x 7" (74cm x 17cm) and are in very good, ex-use condition with some small blemishes. [3]

These are the type once common on the District/Circle Line where arrows would illuminate by the destinations for the coming trains. London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAG (Request version). A single-sided sign in a slightly smaller size than the full flags. These were made to be fixed over the stop flags on wooden bus shelters when the 'denomination' of the stop needed changing and they have screw-holes in the corners for this purpose. They are rather unusual. Measures 16" x 14" (41cm x 36cm). In excellent condition with only very minor blemishes. [1]
1930s London Underground enamel PLATFORM SIGN from Holborn (Kingsway) station. Thought to date from the modernisation of the station in 1933, the sign would have been the bar from a bullseye. It measures 58" (147cm) x 12" (31cm) and is in good to very good, ex-use condition with a few small blemishes. [1]
Selection (4) of BADGES & a PLATE comprising alloy driver lapel badges for Chatham Omnibus Driver 771, Hull Hackney Carriage Driver 503, an enamel armband with broken strap for JSP Licensed Motor Vehicle Driver 1 and a small enamel plate 'Thames Conservancy Motor Launch Licence 1140 - 1945'. All in good/very good, ex-use condition. [4]
Selection (3) of 1920s/30s London General Omnibus Co driver/conductor CAP BADGES comprising the blue version (bus), enamel on nickel, very good condition, the Country Services version, enamel on brass, very small enamel losses, and the coach version, red enamel on brass, heavy loss of enamel. All have the lugs present on the backs. [3]
Selection (12) of London Underground enamel, plastic & glass SIGNS (various sizes. all fairly small) including Moor Park station platform & signal layout, 3 x switch cabinet plates, 3 x destination indicator plates, glass plates for back-lighting 'Assistance' and 'Tickets & Assistance', Emergency Button (Victoria Line), '4' (platform number sign), and Compulsory Ticket Area (mostly in very good, ex-use condition) plus a double-sided Lyons Cakes ADVERTISING SIGN (19" x 16" - 48cm x 40cm) in well-worn condition. London Underground 38-Tube Stock enamel CAB DESTINATION PLATE for Bushey Heath / Finchley Cen on the Northern Line. Bushey Heath would have been the new northern terminus of the line had the extension proposed before WW2 taken place but this was abandoned with the introduction of the Green Belt. A double-sided plate with brass ends. In very good, ex-use condition. [1]
Pair of London Transport/London Country coach stop enamel E-PLATES for Green Line route 715A, the first destinated Saturday, Kingston, Guildford (these were recorded from Hertford to Kingston Vale) and the second Saturday, Ripley, Guildford (these were recorded from Kingston to Cobham). Both are in very good, ex-use condition. [2]
1950s/60s London Underground enamel PLATFORM FRIEZE PANEL from the Piccadilly Line platforms at Green Park station. Directional vinyls have latterly been applied for the Jubilee, Victoria Lines and Way Out. If desired, these could be removed to reveal the original station name which is discernible underneath. Measures 48" (122cm) x 9.5" (24cm) and is in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE for Green Line route 719 destinated Sidcup, Swanley, Wrotham. We haven't seen this wording before. These were recorded at locations from Marble Arch to New Cross Gate. In ex-use condition with surface scratches - NB these show worse in the image than to the eye. [1]
1950s/60s London Underground enamel PLATFORM FRIEZE PANEL from Shepherd's Bush station on the Central Line. This was one of very few stations (just 3 are known to us) where the bullseyes with the line name were integrated into the main panels. Measures 75" (190cm) x 9" (23cm) and is in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
c1930s/40s London Underground enamel PLATFORM SIGN from Chorley Wood, the former Metropolitan Railway station on the line to Chesham and Amersham also shared with main-line trains. Named Chorley Wood and Chenies from 1915, it reverted to just Chorley Wood in 1934, from when this sign could well date, becoming Chorleywood in 1965. The sign would have been the centre bar of a bullseye and measures 58.5" x 10.5" ( 149cm x 27cm). A few small blemishes at the edges but generally in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
c1940s London Underground enamel PLATFORM SIGN from Woodford, the former LNER station on the Central Line. The sign most likely dates from 1947 when the station was transferred to London Transport and was the centre bar from a bullseye assembly. Platform signs from this station are uncommon. The sign measures 58.5" x 10.5" (149cm x 27cm) and is generally in very good, ex-platform condition with a few small blemishes and some grime at the edges. [1]
Pair of 1950s/60s London Underground enamel FRIEZE PLATES from the Northern Line with the name across the bar of the bullseye. Sizes 18" (46cm) and 21.5" (55cm) respectively by 9" (23cm). The first is in very good condition (needs a clean) and the second has areas of damage around the screw-holes. [2]
Selection (3) of mid-19th century London bus enamel LICENCE BADGES of the first types issued to horsebus crews and comprising Driver 2454, Driver 4860 and Conductor 3097. Double-sided plates, 4" (10cm) across and designed to hang from the lapel or button on a leather strap. Generally in good to very good, ex-use condition. [3]
London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE for Green Line route 718 destinated Kingston, Victoria, Harlow, 'Fare Stage'. E-plates with the 'Fare Stage' annotation are most unusual. Just two pairs of these were recorded, both in Egham. A couple of small blemishes at the edges, otherwise in very good, ex-use condition. [1]
Pair of Aldershot & District Traction Co Ltd BUS STOP FLAGS, the first a c1930s-50s cast-alloy example complete with original fixing brackets and the second a c1950s-60s flanged, enamel version. Both are double-sided and measure 13" (33cm) and 12" (31cm) across respectively. The signs are in good to very good, ex-use condition, the first was not repainted for a considerable period of use. Southern Railway enamel DEPARTURE INDICATOR PLATE 'Kemsing' with original wooden backing tumbler, probably from the departures board at Victoria. Kemsing is on the Maidstone Line that diverges from the Chatham main line at Swanley Junction and joins the South Eastern main line at Ashford. Measures 17" x 2.5" (43cm x 6,5cm) and is in good, ex-use condition with some small chips, mainly at the edges. [1]
