Duverdrey & Bloquel, Saint Nicolas d'Aliermont, an Anglaise carriage clock having an eight-day duration movement with a platform lever escapement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with a repeat button to sound the last hour at will, the backplate stamped with the hand-setting arrow style as used by Duverdrey & Bloquel of Saint Nicolas d'Aliermont and numbered 9864, with the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel moon hands, the Anglaise case with Corinthian capitals to the fluted columns and matching handle, a case style used by the better French carriage clock makers of the period, height 16.5cm/14cm, handle up/down.Biography Albert Villon set-up his first carriage clock making workshops in Saint-Nicolas-d'Aliermont in 1867 and by 1889 professed to be making some 20,000 carriage clocks per year. In 1887 Paul Duverdrey joined Villon as a director who in turn was joined by Joseph Bloquel after the death of Villon in 1910, the business becoming Duverdrey & Bloquel. The firm later became the alarm clock making concern Bayard.

Richard & Co., Paris, an Edwardian French mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with the backplate stamped R & Co.,for the maker Richard et Cie of Paris, the cream enamel dial with black Roman numerals and blued steel moon hands, the mahogany case having boxwood stringing and crossbanding, and having a shaped serpentine top, all standing on brass pad feet, height 25cm. With a mahogany wall bracket.Biography Richard et Cie are recorded as working in Paris at Rue Bondy, 32 having originally being known as Lemaitre & Bergmann in 1848. They received an Honourable Mention at the Paris Exposition of 1889 having opened a retail outlet at 24 Cannon Street, London in 1867.
Of sport / horse racing interest - A large extensive collection of York County Stand horse racing enamel badges and cardboard lanyards. Dating from 1980s onwards, some with gilt decoration and most with string bands. Some Redcar Race Club dating 1960s. Approx 72 (badges). Presented in a folder, some loose.

The medal having stamped 9ct gold top bar and suspension to read Roll of Honour, Alma Lodge over medal with central silver bull to centre in relief set with faceted red stone eyes upon a silver gilt knights templar with enameled white lettering to read Roll of Honour, Palmam.Qui. Meruit.Ferat with green guilloche enamel and eight paste stones. The obverse to read Presented by the Hon Sir W. G. H. Wilkins 13th Jan 1960'. The top bar and suspension having 19th century 9ct gold stamps and the medal having London hallmark 1959. Marks for Louis Simpson. In original Louis Simpson case. Measures 11cm length.
A French cartel clock,19th century, by Henry-Lepaute Paris, the enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute track and bell strike movement, in a rococo style scrolling case,38cm highCondition ReportLight scratches to surface of glass. Minor chip to one winding hole. The suspension spring/top section where the pendulum attaches is split and as such the pendulum cannot be attached nor the movement tested. It will need the attention of a clock restorer. The pendulum would not hang lower than the case.
